Summary: We selected this home in order to explore many different areas in the Garfagnana and it was the perfect jumping off point to do so! Our hosts were lovely and helpful. I would definitely recommend and hope to return in the near future for longer excursions.

Summary: Paolo’s property was perfect for me and my family. It is clean, spacious and very well presented. It is a perfect location for exploring the Garfagnana region and close to plenty of local amenities. The swimming pool is beautiful and the hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Summary: The set up of this property is first class for two adults, although there are additional bunk beds for children. It is difficult to find at first but you need to focus on the village of Ghivizzano. Having said that there is private access to the property and good parking. The pool is a very usable for a decent swim and good sun beds for your use. Highly recommended.

Summary: We absolutely loved the accommodation and would come back anytime. The house is a cozy little home, furnished and decorated with taste and lovely details. It is equipped with everything you need during a vacation. Although it is located on the grounds of the owners you have plenty of privacy and the owners generously shared their wonderful pool and lush tuscany style garden with us which we regularly enjoyed. The host family is absolutely lovely, very warm-hearted, sweet and supportive with anything we needed. And they always had great tipps for us on what to see or do and where to eat or shop for which we were very grateful. Nothing's better than a great tipp from locals :-) We are more than happy having found that wonderful Tuscany jewel and if we could rate 10 stars that's what we'd do!

Summary: The house is equipped with everything you need and everything is very clean and neat. The owners are friendly and helpful. The house is like a pool-house located on the property where the owners live themselves.

Summary: Ghivizanno has a long main street with everything you need within walking distance: Pizzeria, bank, supermarket, bar and a little further along, the bakery. On the way are some beautiful villas including the home of hospitable Paolo and Vosta. In the well maintained garden behind the house there is a real pool with ample seating. The rental house is fully equipped, excellently air conditioned and spacious. The location is private and tranquil. It has been overall an excellent place for a relaxing four-week stay (July/August 2016). It could have lasted longer. History and culture (Puccini) in Lucca and Barga, green mountains in the immediate area with quaint villages (Garfagnana), and a pleasant seafront (Viareggio) with a wide boulevard. A word of thanks to our exceptional hosts who were attentive, helpful and interested. Thanks to them both and the perfect place to which we want to return. Summary: Once you find it ( use google earth and sat nav and ring when close!) you enter the gates into a haven of peace with the owner's house, a beautiful pool with ample loungers and shade, lovely views and a very warm and friendly welcome. The chalet is detached, large, beautifully restored, very comfortable and well equipped ( bring your own travel kettle and tea/coffee ). The village has a few small shops with supermarkets a short drive away as are several excellent restaurants. Lucca is a 30 minute drive and was quiet in June with ample parking; we used the train from there to reach Florence, lovely but very crowded. The surrounding countryside is great for exploring and the pool area truly lovely for relaxing. Paolo and Fosca and their family could not have done more for us and their wonderful welcome, daily gifts and chats in Italian/English played a large part in making our stay such a lovely experience. Wewould go back tomorrow!
