Positive: Excellent accomodation with sofas, table, BBQ and full kitchen as well as 2 bedrooms. Modern and clean. games and DVDs available. Nice little pond and gardens around. Hosts even provided directions to a swimming lake that we did one early morning.
Negative: Nothing really
Summary: Lovely little great value cottage near Sigulda for those with a car.

Positive: We appreciated the warm welcome, including fresh eggs and home-grown vegetables. The garden was great for our children to run around, and the games and puzzles were a nice touch. Having a washing machine was also very convenient.
Negative: The bathroom was extremely small, and there was a strong septic smell. We also noticed mold in the shower and experienced very low water pressure. Additionally, music played continuously in the nearby barn, even overnight, which meant we had to keep our bedroom window closed (the owner later explained the reason when we asked). The owner was kind and welcoming, but we feel that addressing these issues should be a priority. While we booked the house based on its 9.5 rating, we do not think this score reflects the reality of our stay, and we did not feel it offered good value for money.
Summary: Warm welcome and nice garden, but bathroom issues and overnight noise impacted our stay.

Positive: This house offered just the right amount of space for me and my two primary school-aged sons—each of us enjoyed our own room, complete with a king-size bed (yes, even the boys lived large). The living area downstairs was bright and generously sized, perfect for a bit of wrestling or quiet reading—depending on the hour. The host? Absolutely excellent. We were welcomed with fresh farm eggs and a presence so discreet that they could give even the most modest Estonian a run for their money. Almost invisible, yet everything worked like clockwork—a rare and admirable talent. In short: a brilliant shell nestled in the beauty of the Latvian countryside. Highly recommended.
Negative: The only downside? The horseflies on a hot day — thankfully, they respected the house more than we did and stayed outside.
