Positive: A really unique hotel, with the various rooms (library, state rooms etc) open for exploring. We did not have time to go to sauna but it would have been available. The breakfast was really nice. The staff permitted us to plug in our car to pre-heat.

Negative: The pricing on booking.com needs review - there was a thousand euro difference if we'd booked with "free cancellation". Room was not accessible; there were steep stairs to reach it (did not bother us but make sure to check if this is important). But the hotel itself was great, and our room was comfortable. Note that it is a bit out of town, own transport required.

Summary: Unique and comfortable stay just out of Hämeenlinna.

Positive: Incredible location, surrounded by amazing nature, and a beautiful castle. The best breakfast I have ever had. When we checked in, we discovered that the temperature in the bathroom was so low that it was impossible to take a shower. We contacted reception, and they immediately changed our room and offered a small apology for the inconvenience — a bottle of sparkling wine. Amazing service and wonderful people working there.

Negative: Cleaning could be better.
