Summary: My family and I stayed for 14 days and had a great time. We had no issues and were very comfortable. Super clean and well appointed. Being near the lake where we were able to boat was fabulous. Will stay here again

Summary: From a beautiful covered porch on which we spent a lot of time, to comfortable beds and fully stocked bathroom and kitchen amenities, this home has it all to make you feel welcome and right at home. It is in a very convenient location- it won't take you 10-15 minutes to get down a mountain like other places, which we appreciated. This is not just a rental, but an amazingly clean, fresh lake home that radiates warmth and relaxation! Very nice and accessible owners.

Summary: We arrived on Saturday afternoon July 21st 2018. The vacation was one of the best we have ever had. We loved the house and was extremely surprised at how cool the area was . The house was very clean and well maintained and so relaxing. Never had to run the air conditioner at all. The lake is absolutely beautiful and navigable. We rented a tritoon 2 seperate days from Signal Ridge Marina. These folks were always very friendly and so helpful. We will certainly rent from them again. Looking forward to the next possible chance to visit this property again. The owners, Mr. and Mrs. Smith were very pleasant and so accommodating. We will certainly be back in touch for our next trip to Glenville NC.

Summary: My family of 6 stayed in this lovely cottage when we traveled to the area for a wedding. It was absolutely perfect for our needs. It is very roomy, well decorated, and comfortable. It had all the comforts we needed and the kitchen was well appointed for cooking. My favorite part was the upper porch. It was such a comfortable outdoor space with a spectacular view! We had a lot of family staying in the area in many different cottages, and I was definitely happy with our choice, it was my favorite out of the many cottages we saw. Marianne was amazing to work with, very flexible and kind and even sending us back a book we forgot. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and to recommend to all our family and friends.

Summary: My family really enjoyed our stay in Cashiers and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. We came to Cashiers to attend my brothers wedding and the location of the home was perfect, just 5 miles to downtown and 2 miles to the venue. Other family stayed in Bear Lake Reserve and were disappointed in the location and difficult drive. Others stayed downtown and spent the same for a single room hotel. We had everything we needed, a well equipped home with all the bells and whistles. The view was amazing, the beds comfortable, and the home beautifully decorated. My 8 year old cried when we left and my 3 year old just couldn't stop asking "are we going to the beautiful house now?" You won't be disappointed.

Summary: I thought the gorgeous pictures advertising this property were too good to be true but that is your actual view from the front porch, living room and dining room. Beautiful mirror like lake surrounded by colorful tree filled mountain backdrop with chipmunks running all around the yard. Home is completely stocked with fresh linens, cookware and spices/condiments, soap, shampoo, toilet paper and extra blankets for cuddling on the couch or enjoying the front porch view. Even offers a ton of board games which we enjoyed playing as a family while listening to their CD player with wall mounted speakers. Great location for your next family get away or ladies retreat. Just bring your hiking boots and toothbrush and a few changes of clothes. Convenient location to Highlands, Cashiers and Franklin which all offer excellent dining out and shopping and of course there are lots of waterfalls in the area to explore and enjoy as well. You definitely need to arrive during daylight hours as the roads are not well marked in this little mountain town, but if you just follow the arrival instructions the homeowner will send you there will be no problem checking in.

Summary: Took the family with our 3 teenagers and had one of the best vacations yet. We travel to NC often and try to explore different locations within the mountains. This location was one of the best for my love and the kids. Very spacious home with all the amenities one would need. The view of the lake from the porch was breathtaking each morning we sat down for coffee. The marina right down the road was very convenient and allowed for taking full advantage of the lake and water sports for the kid in us and well, the kids! Highlands was only 25 mins away which gave us plenty to do for some adult time. There is also a lovely man made beach about 1.5 miles away within the same Lake which we found relaxing and convenient. The weather was absolutely refreshing considering the sweltering heat back home in FL. Thank you Marianne for the wonderful hospitality and superb accommodations!

Summary: We are a semi-retire couple and do a considerable amount of travel. When we are going to be a location for 3 or more days we generally stay at VRBO properties and there is always the apprehension “will the property be as advertised?” This property is better than advertised. The location high above Lake Glenville offers a great view of the lake and is central to day trips to the many surrounding towns, nature trails, waterfalls, and, of course, good restaurants. The cottage is two stories and would have easily accommodated more than just the two of us. It is well laid out and, with the possible exception of a slight overdose of sea-going nick-knacks in what is a lake house the cottage is “homey” comfortably. We were there a week and never tired of eating lunch or dinner on the deck, relaxing in the swing or just looking out over the lake. If you need to stay connected to the home or office there is no reliable AT&T cell service but that can be said about any location in the area and the cottage does have a solid internet connection and the use of a land line that was sufficient for our use. Many properties leave information on “what to do” while in the area and Marianne’s note book is chock full of suggestions of places to go, must see sights, and good restaurants and is spot –on accurate. The short of it is if you are going to visit the Cashiers, Highlands, Lake Glenville, and Western Carolina area and want a great home base for your excursions I doubt you will find a better place than this cottage.
