Surrounding area has water parks, go-karting, chateaux, vineyards and superb restaurants. Ideally placed for visits west to St Emilion, Bordeaux and east to Sarlat and Rocamadour.
Bergerac centre is 15 minutes by bike along river path accessed from the garden. Changeover day is normally Saturday.....other days by agreement
Bergerac airport (15 minutes by taxi) is served by Ryanair and Easyjet and other airlines.

Summary: We spent an excellent week, catching up with "old" university friends. The property is very spacious and full of character.The close proximity to Bergerac was a big plus, as it is a lovely, short bike ride away, along the river Dordogne; many bikes are available at the villa. Bob was very welcoming and responsive.

Summary: We had a wonderful time with a party of 3 families. Great that the house is so large. Due to the thick walls it stayed cool inside even though we had several hot days. Highly recommended!

Summary: Our flight arrived at 9am. Bob kindly let us leave our luggage in the hall while the property was being prepared - very helpful. When we returned at the agreed time, Bob and Heather were most welcoming. After a swim were given a useful guided tour of the lovely house which was more than impressive. Having the ground floor bedroom was very useful as my wife has mobility issues and cannot manage stairs. We made use of both sitting rooms and kitchens which allowed us all plenty of space but with the facility to have bases for our various family groups. The wonderful pool was the main focus for the younger members, who also enjoyed the pool table and table football. Bergerac, a lovely town, was a popular evening venue for sightseeing and eating out, although we did visit local restaurants and village food festivals as well. The house itself was packed with character and was a fascinating place to enjoy being based for a fortnight. The bicycles provided were used by some many times for trips to local shops and for rides along the river. Some of our group arranged for a morning’s canoeing on the Dordoigne which they really enjoyed. In the event of any queries or problems Bob was always easy to contact and was very prompt to assist in sorting things out. All in all it was a very relaxing holiday, and a wonderful place to assemble the extended family to spend quality time together.

Summary: Splendid building, grounds and swimming pool. Some of the equipment and facilities showing signs of wear. During our week, the weather was exceptionally hot (up to 40 deg C) making some of the upstairs bedrooms unusable due the heat. However the old, thick walls of the building coped as well as anything could have without the aid of A/C.

Summary: We had a very warm and helpful welcome from Bob and Heather, who made some great recommendations for our family group of 11 and left their contact details for us if there were any issues during our stay (there weren't). I would agree with a previous review, the photos really do not do justice to the scale of this amazing and well-equipped property, with a fantastic pool, and lovely gardens for relaxing in. We really enjoyed the proximity to Bergerac and being able to cycle in, whilst also being close to supermarkets, and very convenient for Bergerac airport. We had quite high temperatures during our stay (34-38 degC on some days), and some members of the family found the temperature in the second-floor bedrooms a bit uncomfortable at night, but Bob and Heather kindly let us move mattresses to the ground floor to help keep the children a bit cooler and there are lots of fans provided.

Summary: Large family get together of 11 the house fitted us all in with plenty of space for everyone. Well equipped and the pool was a real hit with all ages. Great to have bikes available too allowing those who didn’t have a car with them, the means of riding into town or to the supermarket. The location was perfect with a footpath along side the property taking you straight into town. Would highly recommend

Summary: We had a lovely stay for the week and Bob was a great host, meeting us on arrival with some fizz and providing the useful tour of his fantastic home. We would have got lost otherwise. The photos don't do it justice! The gardens are vast and provide a lovely private area for family gathering. Our 10 year old and adults enjoyed the pool everyday with the weather getting warmer. The house is a 35 minute brisk walk into Bergerac along the river, which we did most days, or its 15 mins by bike. There are some bikes at the property, which functionally work! The facilities at the property are excellent. All in all a great holiday was had.
