The views from every window in this apartment are simply breathtaking, couple this with the magnificent panoramic scenery from the large very private 40m2 south west facing sun terrace makes this apartment very special. Every view becomes an ever changing picture, seeing the beautiful crystal sea and villages perched above rolling hills with roaming sheep grazing through olive trees is truly special.
Entrance door from stairs and balcony to hallway, leading to large open plan living area with sofa bed and a open feature fireplace, Bose iPod sound station, dining area and fitted contemporary kitchen.
Doors to large panoramic sun terrace with dining area, bbq & with all weather comfortable cushioned furniture, sun beds, and various potted plants.
Two large double bedrooms with sea views, one with beamed ceiling and one with archway to dressing area.
Fitted luxury travertine marble tiled bathroom with large shower, bath, bidet, WC and complimentary toiletries. Also has a private outdoor shower (hot & cold)
Our local beautiful sandy beaches are just a 4 minute drive downhill. The sea is crystal clear & there are many family run pizzerias, restaurants, bars offering chilled drinks, ice cream or lunch. Most offer free and easy parking and are not crowded like the beaches in Tropea.

Villa Bergamotto is situated only a few minutes drive from Briatico which is a friendly market town with family owned shops & cafes offering fresh local produce, there is also a large supermarket.
Ideally situated centrally between the two wonderful medieval towns of Tropea and Pizzo & Vibo marina both of which are only 10 -15 minutes away.
There are many local beaches, the nearest beach is less than 1km drive away from the Villa and benefits from having quality beachside restaurants offering fresh home cooked cuisine with wonderful views over the bay, they are also open all year round. The beach has a raft of activities including scuba diving, snorkeling, pedalo and canoe boats, sunbed hire is also available but not compulsory. Part of the beach has a very safe naturally shallow children’s bathing area.

Summary: Mandy and Nigel are the best hosts! The property is even nicer than it looks in the listing. It has a fully equipped kitchen! And the deck is amazing. The area is beautiful and basically unspoiled by over tourism. We loved our stay!

Summary: Great location; several beautiful beaches, Tropea, Pizzo, restaurants,... within 15min range (by car). Apartment is immaculate, nicely decorated, plenty of amenities... Beach towels, goggles, music playlists, toaster, good cooking utensils, mosquito nets, good outside furniture on the terrace,... great recommendations for restaurants, outings, shops,... super sympathetic owners too! We forgot the baby phone, the next day it was boxed and sent to us. Delightful stay all in all. Don't hesitate; just go for it! Only disadvantage is that you might come home a little depressed :-) We miss the Calabrian sun!!!!

Summary: Nigel and Amanda were perfect hosts and Villa Bergamotto is quite something indeed. We didn’t meet them but were greeted by a lovely local English speaking lady. All communication with Amanda was excellent and we cannot complain about anything at all during our one week stay. We would advise anyone to utilise their recommendations - all were amazing (beaches, restaurants etc..) and absolutely made our Calabrese experience so wonderful. The WIFI was superb and we were able to download movies etc... on all our devices with ease and no issue. New fly nets on all the windows weren’t necessary for us but I imagine possibly very helpful in the heat of the summer. Sunsets on the terrace each night were quite something. Everything was really appreciated and we will be back next year for sure. Hopefully with the same delicious homemade cake and chilled champagne on arrival :) nice touch!

Summary: Myself, my partner and our friends spent a week in Calabria with this month, and wish we could have stayed longer! Such a beautiful part of the world, and the Villa Bergamotto apartment was the perfect base. Equipped with everything you need for a week of adventure or relaxation. Beds are super comfortable, kitchen is modern and has everything you need, even has a garage full of beach chairs, inflatables and snorkels - which isn't something we'd usually use but it's perfect for the nearby beaches (the sea is crystal clear!). We spent every day at a different beach, recommended by Nigel and his wife in their guide - you can't really go wrong with any one of the local beaches. Same goes for restaurants too - make sure you try La Rada in Vibo Marina, Moby Dick in Pizzo, and Pinturicchio in Tropea. All are fab. Even if you decide not to go out of the apartment, the view of the ocean and valley from the upstairs apartment is breathtaking - especially when the sun is setting 😍. We all enjoyed a couple of evenings in, listening to music and trying the fantastic local prosecco and vino. Fell in love with the whole area, and will definitely come back again next year. Thanks for being so welcoming, and would definitely recommend Villa Bergamotto to anyone looking for the perfect place to relax, explore and enjoy everything the Calabria region has to offer 👌🏼

Summary: Very well equipped apartment with spacious private terrace. Close to beaches, supermarkets and the lovely cities Tropea and Pizzo. Also a boat trip to Stromboli (departing from Vibo Marina, which is less than 10 minutes driving) is an experience not to miss. The owners have provided lots of useful information in advance and were always there to assist when needed. Thank you Nigel and Mandy!

Summary: We stayed in the first floor apartment, it was very clean and very organised. The beds and linen were very comfortable, the shower was very powerful. We were very happy with the feel of the apartment, it was modern but very cosy and homely, the mix of new and old has been achieved very tastefully indeed. The weather was glorious during our stay and we made full use of the sun terrace whenever we could, the scenery is simply inspiring! The beaches were beautiful, there were many restaurants all of which were very cheap, but the quality was high. We would definitely recommend this apartment, we will hope to return again perhaps next year.

Summary: My partner and I stayed at Nigel and Mandy's place 'Villa Bergamotto' for one week at the end of August. I must say - I can't fault one thing. We had the most amazing stay and experience of Calabria - mainly due to their suggestions and recommendations! We usually like to plan our stay when we go abroad - but I am so happy we decided to follow their suggestions as they really do know the area so well. They are English locals having known the area for 10+ years with many friends in the area. We wouldn't have been able to take advantage of the best that Tropea/Briatico/Zambrone/Vibo has to offer without having read the information pack or spoken with Nigel and Mandy about things to do and places to visit. We took a speedboat out for a day at a very cheap price and ate at a fantastic, affordable seafood restaurant along the coast after anchoring and swimming to shore. Tropea is a must - lovely side streets, delicatessens, shops and gelato! We had wonderful food and drink throughout the duration of our stay as we chose to eat at restaurants which were all recommended by Nigel and Mandy. Whether its seafood, pizza, pasta, contemporary, fine-dining or quirky/unique cuisine you are looking for - they will know somewhere you will love! The apartment itself was very elegant with luxurious ornamentation - comfortable/plush terrace seating, large opulent bedrooms with a variety of pillows to suit your preference and an aesthetically astounding garden with herbs for cooking and beautiful plants and flowers surrounding you whilst you have your morning alfresco shower (should you choose to use it - I would recommend!). The apartment was equipped with absolutely everything you will need - they provide wine, condiments, local liquor, terrace BBQ, crockery, fun beach games, snorkeling equipment and much more. We rarely needed to contact them as everything was available and clearly communicated to us prior to arrival and on arrival by their local friend, Francesca - who was incredibly helpful and spoke many languages! Our stay at Villa Bergamotto was one that will stay in our fondest of memories forever. We will be revisiting Calabria next year to do all the other things we didn't get round to doing during our stay this time and we want to say a huge thank you to Nigel, Mandy, Francesca and all of the Calabrese locals who made our stay so wonderfully unforgettable. We would recommend staying here to everyone and anyone - affordable, mesmerizing and unforgettable.

Summary: What a wonderfully chilled holiday we had in Villa Bergamotto. Decorated to a very high spec and the attention to detail was faultless. We enjoyed our breakfasts on the shaded balcony watching the sheep and goats being herded by with their tinkling bells. Then in the evening watching the stunning sunsets with a chilled glass of wine. Coastline has so many beautiful beaches. We explored quite a few during our first week but ended up loving the local lido in Briatico, La Perla Del Golfo. Very friendly family run restaurant with delicious local food. Excellent views over the sea both during the day and evening. Pizzas and local wine excellent value! Trip to the bustling town of Tropea is a must but was always such a pleasure to return to the tranquil Villa Bergamotto. Mandy and Nigel were the perfect hosts, providing so much information on the area. We had the pleasure of spending an evening with them and what a fun night we had! We hope to return one day.
