About the Accommodation
A 5 bedroom villa sleeping 8-10 persons with a refurbished 10m x 5m swimming pool.
The property is situated on the edge of the beautiful Charentais village of St Brice and is only a 5 minute walk to the picturesque River Charente where fishing is possible.
The property has a private garden has a large lawn with a terrace for outside dining, barbecues and a 10M x 5M swimming pool. The property has off-road parking for at least 3 vehicles.
The house has a large lounge area which leads onto a large airy kitchen, with the dining area situated off to one side which consists of a table that seats 10. The kitchen consists of an induction hob, fan assisted oven, dish washer and a large fridge freezer. From the kitchen you can walk onto the terrace leading to the BBQ, outdoor seating area and the swimming pool.
Along from the kitchen and dining area you will find two bedrooms and a shower room. The first bedroom has two single beds. The second bedroom has a super king bed and it's own bathroom.
From this floor you go down stairs to the remaining three bedrooms. Two contain double beds (one has it's own shower room and toilet). The fifth bedroom has two single beds.
The house was built in the1980's and has some of the original designs.
Round and About
The amenities of the historic towns of Cognac and Jarnac are only a short 5 - 10 minute drive where you will find many of the famous Cognac distilleries. In Jarnac there is the opportunity to hire canoes and kayaks.
As well as the distilleries, Cognac boasts many charming shops, cafes and restuarants. The larger super stores can easily be found on the outskirts. Auchan, Lidl and Aldi are between five and ten minutes drive away.
For those of you that like to venture further afield, the Bordeaux region is within an hours drive as are the nearest beaches of Royen and Palais sur Mer.
Golf
'Cognac du Golf', the renown golf course is only a mile away. The golf course boasts an 18 hole golf course,designed by Jean Garaïalde, 2 putting greens and one chipping green. A new restaurant opened within the club house at the end of April.

Summary: After an initial hiccup or two (no fault of the owners who were brilliant), we had a wonderful time at this excellent villa. The area was stunning and the property afforded a first class retreat especially the pool which was much needed in the gorgeous weather provided.

Summary: Wow, we had a fantastic family holiday in sunny Saint-Brice. The house itself is a great size and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We spent most of our time at the house on the terrace area and around the generous sized pool. As an extended family group we had 3 cars for which there was plenty of space in the gated driveway. The house is the perfect base for touring the Charente area, some of our favourite activities were; fishing in the Charante river itself, we walked down, through the village and sat on a jetty with the chateaux featured in the photos as a backdrop. We all loved the Courvoisier experience and of course the town of Cognac itself. We also drove out to the lovely town of St Palais-sur-Mer for a seafood lunch and then spent the rest of the day on the beach. The Auchan hypermarket in Cognac is about a 6 min drive away, we cooked and BBQed at the house most evenings and stocked up on wine as we left. We have booked this villa again for July/Aug, can’t wait!

Summary: A great sized family villa - big enough for 2 families - which was very clean and excellently equipped. All questions about the property were swiftly dealt with by Mrs Robinson and she had even left some wine for us - thank you, along with plenty of recommendations for things to do in the area. There are lots of beautiful walks to do in the area and excellent supermarkets nearby. We can't wait to go back in the summer to try out the fantastic looking pool in the enclosed garden!
