Summary: We had a great stay in the Villa. Rachel was a star looking after the house and cooking great breakfasts for us. The house is so big we all had a corner we could sit and chill and then in the evening we could relax around the telly. With Godfrey keeping an eye on the house at night we felt very safe, although its such a lovely area I'm sure we didn't need to worry. I would recommend this house to anyone and would love to come back for a another stay soon. Ross & Lisa

Summary: We had an absolutely lovely time at Villa Donkerkloof! The house is beautiful and extremely well appointed, the location was remote enough to be magical, but close enough to family and areas we wanted to visit. With 4 on-suite bedrooms, space to hang out, space to cook, space to enjoy the outdoors, it was just great all round!The staff were exceptional (Rachel and Andrew were fantastic!) and Linda was a gracious and thoughtful hostess for the Estate. A lovely escape that provided the space, and beauty for a stunning holiday away with family. We would absolutely visit again! Thank you Lise and Jadrick for sharing your lovely home away from home with us!

Summary: What an amazing stay we had at Villa Donkerkloof!!! This was truly the highlight of our 2 week trip to South Africa. The beautiful home surpassed our every expectation and then some. Each of the oversized bedrooms were equally beautiful with king size beds, incredible views, large bathrooms including walk in showers for 5 of your best friends and a large bath tub for the remaining family members. The bath rooms also had heated floors and towel racks! The large open kitchen included all a gourmet chef could ask for and then some. The living room, dining room, sun room opened into each other giving a expansive yet warm and welcoming feeling. The staff of 3 met our every need. Rachel ran the house and staff beautifully, ensuring that we wanted for nothing. Rachel and team even prepared a braii for 12 people one night! How wonderful to come home each night, greeted by our security man, then a lit warm fire in the fireplace. After a week stay on a game reserve, Rachel volunteered to take care of all laundry as well. What a gift and time saver! The location was perfect for being able to get around the Cape Winelands, centrally located between Franschhoek, Stellenbosch, Paarl, and finally Cape Town. Being in the travel industry for some 30 something years, traveling most the world, nothing can compare to Villa Donkerkloof, so exceptional is this property. Thank you Lise, for being an incredible host.

Summary: We had a wonderful stay in the donkerkloof villa. The house fulfilled all our expectations. Great bedrooms and bathrooms, kitchen well equipped. Kids loved the large garden. The house was very clean and proper due to Rachel, also Godfried was very kind to us, and gave us a safe feeling during our stay. All together it was a great time at the western cape and we would recommend this villa to everyone, who wants to spend their time in a luxurious villa during their stay at the western cape. Thanks Lise for all the clear communication during the period before we visited the villa!! ( and also for the delicious surprise upon our arrival..... ) Regards Sander and Deborah and all the kids

Summary: This was our second stay at Villa Donkerkloof. The house is spectacularly positioned overlooking vineyards, mountains and a dam, with a large and varied population of wild birdlife living on and around it. Donkerkloof is a spacious, comfortably furnished and well equipped home, providing everything one needs for a luxurious and comfortable holiday. Situated within a secure estate, It provides a perfect base for exploring the winelands area of the Western Cape. Rachel, the domestic helper could not do enough to look after us during our stay, and we were very sad to leave! We look forward to visiting again in the future, and cannot recommend the property highly enough to prospective guests.
