Summary: A very comfortable villa in a spectacular location , at the top of the hill, ensuring very pleasant temperatures and amazing views. We had a great time both at the villa and exploring nearby towns, villages, beaches.

Summary: We had a most pleasant stay at the Villa, myself, my husband and 3 young children. The pool was well used and loved as there is a more shallow area. The multiple terraces provided views for days! Follow the directions and arrive via Cherethiana (also an adorable town usually providing our nightly entertainment with the music reaching out terrace). Located close to many sights to explore and then to come back home and watch the sunset. The kids loved finding the house on the hill driving back to it every day. Thank you for the lovely stay!

Summary: Very comfortable and well equipped villa in a small village in the hills. Excellent pool and outdoor area, with a selection of comfortable outdoor seating areas and sun beds. The views from the villa are spectacular in nearly every direction, and the villa has been built to make the most of its elevated position. The area is extremely quiet, but Kissamos is within a 15 min drive. Chania is about 30 minutes away, and the lovely beaches at Falasarna and Elafonisi are 30 mins and about an hour respectively. Communications with the owner was very efficient, and Antonis was very helpful and responsive during our stay. If you want peace and quiet and spectacular views of the mountains and the sea, I would thoroughly recommend this villa.

Summary: Our time at Villa Kalliani lived up to all of our expectations. It's a beautiful, secluded house in a magnificent setting in the mountains among the olive groves. The entire property is as private as described. The only sounds are the occasional rooster crowing or dog barking. We could not be happier or more satisfied with our decision to stay here. Furthermore, Antonis is a wonderful and caring host. He met us at the house even though we arrived very late after getting lost (more below) and was kind and gracious the whole time. We do have to mention that finding the property can be challenging, especially at night. Do NOT rely entirely on Google Maps because it will take you on dirt paths through olive groves that are not suitable for cars. Instead, map to the tiny village of Cherethiana (Χαιρεθιανά) and follow signs to Kalliani Villa. The roads are steep and windy, but are not heavily traveled and the drive is absolutely worth it. We hope to stay at Villa Kalliani again on our next visit to Crete. And there will definitely be more visits to Crete in our future.

Summary: Close to Chania and to the best beaches in Crete. We enjoyed Villa Kalliani very much. The views are extraordinary, the pool is just the right size, the place is spotless and comfortable and very quiet. The WiFi works very well. Antonis is attentive and responsive. It’s a great location from which to explore the island. I would highly recommend to friends.

Summary: The description of this beautiful villa is absolutely accurate; if anything it does not prepare you fully for the tremendous stay you are about to have. It is like living in the comfort of your own home-spotlessly clean, plenty of towels and linen, a well equipped kitchen, two good bathrooms, air conditioning, a music centre with CDs, games, candles, a BBQ, you need to take nothing! This is outdoor living at its best. With two teenagers we had a wonderful week. Plenty of room for us all to have our own space, long lazy days sunbathing and reading by the pool( it was actually very difficult to drag ourselves off anywhere!) magical sunsets over the sea and sitting out at night looking at millions of stars in total isolation.You do need a car to get around as the villa is set at the top of the hill (which gives a welcome breeze) surrounded by its own private well tended garden with a green lawn, shrubs, roses and geraniums and across the lane nothing but olive trees on the slopes downwards. The local town of Kissamos (10 mins drive) is not at all touristy in a brash sense but there are plenty of supermarkets with fresh local produce and good, reasonably priced places to eat along the sea front-the atmosphere at night is lively but not loud. Chania,about 30 mins eastwards on the national road (take care,it's a fast, dangerous road with poor lane markings) is well worth some visits, especially the harbour and the old town. Falasarna beach is like paradise, sand and blue water with fantastic sunsets from the little bars(again,off the beaten track so amazingly uncrowded even in August), the south coast is within easy reach and walking the Samaria Gorge is a must! Start early to avoid the midday sun, took us 5 hours with 2 stops en route. Very popular, lots of springs to wash your feet and get water and towering awe inspiring limestone scenery. A great achievement but the dip in the sea at the end is much needed! Check out your return route carefully, boats and taxis are not that frequent.To sum up, this villa is ideal if you don't like crowds, if you want to experience life in the hills of Crete with no-one around but like to be close enough to have things to do and places to eat out. We were made to feel very welcome- a bottle of wine,some olive oil and a video of Chania were presents on arrival and we have never stayed anywhere quite so dreamlike. Arriving back to the grey skies of Britain it was hard to believe it had ever happened.We will definitely return.
