Positive: Fantastic place! Located in a small and quiet alley, just 20 minutes walk to the Royal Palace, it's an old, traditional house, which has been renovated with great taste. All people from the family that run the place are very lovely and helpful. The room, bathroom and the common facilities are very comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was tasty too. I will definitely choose that place again if I'll go back to Bangkok: highly recommended!

Positive: Over all everything was great - the staff was welcoming, optimistic and very helpfull; the location was perfect and the house itself was beautiful!
Negative: The only thing the place needs in order to be PERFECT is to add air conditioning to the lobby / dining area. It is hard to stay there for long for the heat is unbearable. Other than that it was truly a lovely experience!

Positive: The lovely house is located at the heartland of Rattanakosin, which is the the junction of each group of sightseeing. The furnitures contains a rolltop desk, which I have been dreaming of for a long time. Although our room area is limited (16 square meters), its house type is designed resonable and elaborately. It is devided into three functional regions: the restroom, the bedroom and the "balcony", and you will not feel crowded in any region. The air-conditioning is equiped with mesh surface, which can avoid the icy wind blow to the sleeping people directly. The originality and carefulness is shown in every details, not to mention the kindness of hostess, the quiet heighborhood, the delicious breakfast, the comfortable lobby, the over-expected cleanliness (no cockroach is found during our staying, and this is rare for a house in the low latitude region), and the numerous other advantages. A lot of comments mentioned that the house is located at an alley which seems unsafe and inconvenience. I states that it is not the case. The community is peaceful, and several homestays which are similar to Villa Mankula distributed around. When we arrive, the taxi drops us in front of the hotel. When we left, the taxi picked up us at the same point. Besides, some comments also mentions that the poor sound insulation effect due to the age of this building. This is true, however, I prefer to attribute this to a part of the native experiences, which is hardly to be seperately from the ensemble of this beautiful tropical architecture. Thus, I will not list it in the disadvantages.
Negative: There are three details which can be considered to improve the hotel very easily: 1, We always got hit by the bed angle, and the "Anti-Collision Angle" is hoped to be applied; 2, The lamp on the rolltop desk seems to be out of service in our room, while I need it when i use my computer and write my dairy; 3, Maybe it is possible to put up slogans in each room to remind guests to reduce noises.
