Villa Magalassou is a private, quiet holiday home with spectacular views of 40 miles from its huge hilltop patio.
The large 11m x 5m private pool has Roman steps, graduated depth and electrically operated safety cover. The covered terrace and patio are well equipped with teak table and chairs for 8 guests plus steamer chairs and relaxing cushioned deck-chairs.
The Villa is set near a farm, so although quiet, it is not totally isolated. The surrounding land is pasture, grazed by sheep and is totally organic, so no use of pesticides.
The location of the Villa is on the border of Aude and Ariege departments of South West France, roughly 10 mins north of the beautiful town of Mirepoix. Mirepoix is renowned for its medieval architecture, weekly market and numerous fetes.
The 4 bedroomed villa is light and airy, fully equipped and tastefully furnished throughout.
It has been refurbished for the 2019 season including a newly fitted kitchen.
Soft furnishings such as curtains/blinds are made from high quality designers such as Sanderson's, Laura Ashley and John Lewis .
All windows are double glazed and most have traditional wood shutters.
On entering through the front door, the upper hall has a chest of drawers and a small sofa. French doors lead through to the open plan living space of lounge, dining and kitchen area. On this level there are also two double bedrooms (bedrooms 1 and 2) along with the main bathroom and a second wc.
Going back to the hall, a couple of steps lead down to the lower hall with conservatory furniture providing a separate quiet reading/relaxing area. From here, bedrooms 3 and 4 are accessed. The hall contains massive double glazed windows, keeping it bright and light. It has roller blinds to keep the sun out during hot evenings.
The outside patio area at the back of the house, accessed by another set of french windows from the lounge are the main feature of the property - the view are simply stunning.
Weather permitting, all meals can be enjoyed outside and a BBQ grille is available to use. In the garden shed there are extra patio chairs, sun umbrella and lots of toys and inflatables to use in the pool.
The villa is surrounded by a large garden which is set amongst rolling pasture fields. It is secure and very private.
There is an abundance of wildlife - songbirds, cuckoo, vultures, frogs, grasshoppers, hummingbird moths & butterflies!
There are books & binoculars in the dresser to help identify birds/wild flowers.
Stargazing at night is wonderful as there is absolutely no light pollution.
