Positive: The villa is in a very nice setting and the sea view from the flat and the three terraces is beautiful. The rented part of the villa has two floors and there is air-conditioning in the living room downstairs and in one of the bedrooms upstairs. The rest of the bedrooms have fans. In the summer, the hosts live on the ground floor below the rented part but they move up for the winter. Reaching the villa is easy from the Samos-Karlovasi road (the word WELCOME is painted at the beginning of the approach) but the approach is very steep and it is best to have either a short car or a jeep. Long cars may have some trouble negotiating the tight curves and the incline. The kitchen is well equipped and we got some juice, water, butter and olive oil from our host for our first breakfast. While we used our rental car most days, we did walk to the nearby village of Agios Konstantinos on our last night which took just over 10 minutes by foot. There are 3 restaurants that we used here: Balkoni, Aiolos and Fergatos. All were good but don't try the first two withour reservation in the summer, especially not on Saturday night! We also visited the taverna in Ampelos (the mountain village above the villa) twice as we liked it very much. A small store is available in Agios Konstantinos but on our first day we went shopping to one of the bigger stores in Karlovasi. For beaches, we used Kokkari, Psili Ammos on the south-eastern tip of the island and nearby Tsabou. This was very nice but we had big waves. There are many other beaches but we didn't have time to see them. The island is pretty small and in 40 minutes you can get to almost everywhere from this villa by car. The kids liked the dogs and the kittens. On a clear day, Turkey is visable and there are millions of stars in the sky. The nights were unexpectedly quiet!
Negative: The coffe machine needs a lot of strength to put together in order to prevent any leaking but apart from that everything was OK. Nothing to do with the villa but when we visited the city of Samos, we saw that sewage was let in the sea in the harbour and the place had a stinky character. Although really small, Pithagorio was much nicer! Again nothing to do with the villa but if you drive up to Ampelos, DO NOT take the mountain road to Manolates! You won't be able to drive all the way as the road becomes a rocky path after a while and even if you just about managed to reach Manolates without damaging your car too much, you can't pass through the narrow alleys with tight curves in Manolates! Just go back to the main road and drive up the hill again.
Summary: A really nice villa to stay in to explore the island especially outside the hottest days of the year

Positive: We liked the location. We loved the view over the waves, like being on a luxury boat. The house was that of our dreams, ready to use with many hospitality signs like shower products, enough bottled water, orange juice and coffee and olive oil (!!!) from their farm for all the days we were there. It was clean and comfortable with spaces that could easily accomodate another couple of guests (we were 5), with many nice towels, nice decor, and a great book collection for all tastes. THE MOST IMPORTANT (for me, hopefully it was not too long or loud): A PIANO ... !!!! I loved the balcony, a dream place for family breakfast or a last glass before bed. For sure there were spaces we did not use or even explore. But above all, we loved the owners. A nice couple that reminded us that friendliness and hospitality are basic Greek virtues, which may have been lost in other more touristic islands. Their advice on where to go on the island really made our holidays better. And we had so much fun with the dogs, Gina and Hermes. They are more of a welcome team, really. A lovely family, indeed, with many interests and a golden heart. If only we knew all that, we would (should) have stayed much longer. But we will come back for sure. One of the best accomodations I ever had in many years of travelling for work and holidays.
Negative: Read the above. We challenge you to find something you do not like on this property. We did not.
