Positive: I loved the layout, the landscaping, the natural vibe that penetrates deeply into your soul, the mountains, the river, the waterfalls, and the swimming pool. I also thoroughly liked the owner, a man who lives in residence and who cares about his guests. The owner spent years creating an intricate natural paradise with stone walkways, stone terraces blended into the garden landscape, flowing water pools and cascades also sculpted into the garden, and areas filled with beautiful tropical orchids and flowers. You can feel his love for the area and it is deeply personal. The surrounding jungle is magical with one of the loveliest waterfalls in Honduras a short hike from the resort (for the physically fit). There are flocks of toucans that fly into trees on the resort property in the mornings and just hang out, and the river right in front of the resort is perfect for a swim on a hot day with deep pools nearby and rocks you can jump from. There is also a chocolate-making farm a short walk from the resort where delicious Honduranian chocolate bars and cacao powder are produced. To sum up my review, this resort will continue to do better and better as the years go by and nature becomes a scarce commodity. I also feel like areas like this and the little bubble of natural protection around it, will lead the way for Honduras to be reborn as a country. It is no secret that Honduras, like much of Central America, has suffered grinding gang vioence for many long years. By going to this resort, you are building hope, bringing light into darkness, economically promoting the most beneficial aspect of Honduras to its own people, and going somewhere special all at the same time. Located right across from a Honduranian national park that is successfully promoting ecological tourism, and in a whitewater rafting area as well, this is the type of place we see all too little of on planet earth and it should be cherished.

Positive: Very helpful owner! Even during regional blackouts! The apartment was everything it was advertised to be. Surprisingly a large 4 gallon jug of water was also provided free of charge and the hot water worked (unusual for a "jungle hotel" ;-) ).

Negative: We were short some cutlery and plates, but this was solved immediately. The pool gets a little crowded on weekends as it is opened for the locals also.

Summary: Very, very good!

Positive: Great place to stay ideally 2 nights! Pool and garden are exceptional. Dinner and breakfast are good too.

Negative: Only drawback is the way to this remote place, a taxi will cost you 25-35$ one way.
