Positive: The ambiance is exactly like in the pictures. The sofa hook must be one of my favourite places in all of Matalascañas and invites for endless views of the sea, which you can also hear from the apartment. The host was wonderful and quick in replying, making sure I had everything I needed. The kitchen is also well equipped and the bed very comfortable.

Negative: That I did not book more days there, so I need to come back.

Positive: Kind and helpful host. Excellent location, close to the centre/beach yet quiet. Sea view. Free/secure parking. The best-equipped apartment we have stayed in - large fridge/freezer, wide range of kitchen equipment and even a filtered water tap which saved buying bottled water! Attractive garden/outdoor area.

Negative: Low season the nearby large supermarkets were closed and many restaurants too, particularly mid-week. Not under the host's control of course but worth knowing/planning for.

Summary: Excellent base to explore Matalascañas beaches and nearby Coto Donaña nature reserve
