Positive: The accommodation was very modern with a shared pool. The staff and hosts were very friendly and attentive to their guests. They were always ready to help and advise us. A family of monkeys lives on the property and we were able to observe them. I would definitely come back. Thank you for everything!

Positive: The staff are extremely kind and helpful. Breakfast is good. The pool area is compact but clean and tidy.
Negative: The property is located in a mangrove swamp, lots of knotted dark, arachnid roots, lots of mosquitos, bugs and spiders. Our bungalow was on the edge of the compound, with disused buildings and backs of neighbouring chalets and A/c units. Electricity kept cutting out.

Positive: The hosts were lovely and the pool was great to relax by on the sun lounges. The room was spacious and breakfast was yummy. The beach was about 10 mins away in a tuk tuk, it was easy to access and nice to be away from the busy main road.

Positive: We felt really comfortable at this hotel. First, we were lucky to get a free room upgrade, and from our balcony we could even watch monkeys. The hotel managers and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We also got so many useful tips for Galle and all of Sri Lanka — from restaurants and shopping to other places to visit during our trip. The breakfast had a great variety and everything was really delicious.

Positive: We had a great stay at VODA, we loved being away from the bustle and noise of Unawatuna. The hotel is amongst mangroves and all the wildlife that goes with it which was a treat to see. The hosts were charming and helpful and we look forward to coming to stay again when we are next in Sri Lanka.
Negative: There’s isn’t anything that we didn’t like but as a family of 4 we could have done with a few more plug sockets in the cabin.

Positive: The setting and design of the property is really nice. They have a lot of clarity on how to build something great in a place with a difficult weather conditions. The attentions and dedication of Tanya and her staff are remarkable. We will come back for sure.
Negative: There are small improvements that can be made. While the open setting of the shower in the bungalows is nice and modern, a mop would have been useful and nice to have. Even when it was not a big issue this time, the doors sealing and the mosquito nets go the beds should be improved.
