Summary: Such an historic beautiful old hotel in Solvorn, Norway for our last stay before leaving the country. We just so happened to arrive the evening of the biggest storm in the last 25 years and our room was right in front of the ferry/dock to see all the action. As we arrived later in the day we were too exhausted to dine there so they brought us nice sandwiches and champagne upon arrival too.

Summary: This is a lovely property in a beautiful spot. We stayed in one of the historic rooms in the main building. It was comfortable, quiet, and the water pressure was excellent. The three course dinner with wine pairings was delicious and beautifully presented, if a tad pricey. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. A unique hotel experience that we would definitely do again.

Summary: Absolutely wonderful historic hotel. Stunning location beside the fjord with lovely walk. Staff do everything possible to help you enjoy your stay. Hotel is stylish and comfortable, food is fantastic.

Summary: Gorgeous historical property for which I spent more than usual due to such wonderful reviews from everywhere. I was studying the capital Urnes stave church and could just take the little ferry across the field to get there. The old world charm of the garden with the summer house, the lovely appointed dining room and salon, and the charming village climbing up the hill behind the hotel made the stay delightful. If the dollar weren’t so weak, it would be more affordable!
