2 Bedroom Cabin in Tiny, Balm Beach

With a private beah across the street, RnR is a basic, cabin with a double and twin bed in one bedroom and a queen bed in the other. There is a full eat-in kitchen, a living room and a private deck with barbecue. The bathroom is a three-piece bathroom with toilet, vanity sink, and a basic aluminum shower.
This is not a luxury rental and the price is reflective of your access across the street to the beautiful private sandy beach that is shared exclusively with other renters and family.

2. Terrain around the property and on the beach is natural and uneven and so is unsuitable for those with wheel chairs or mobility issues

R n R Retreat is part of a compound known as Tondakea Lodge & Cabins. The compound consists of three 2 bedroom cabins, one 4 bedroom house, and one 2 bedroom house; all bookable through VRBO (See bottom of this description). Located across the street from our private beach, at the edge of a 27 acre forest, it once was the home and school of Franz Johnston, of the Group of Seven artists, and later became a resort in the 50s. Although updates have been made over the years the buildings still retain their original charm and rustic feel.

Enjoy long walks through the forest, go for a swim in the crystal clear waters of Georgian Bay, or take a 10-15 min walk along the water to Balm Beach. At Balm Beach you have access to the connivence store/LCBO , Balm Beach Go-Karts, Mini Golf, The Surf Family Restaurant, The Balm Beach Bar & Smokehouse and the Georgian Grill & Family Arcade

Summary: Fourth year in a row staying at this cabin location and loved every bit of it. We have made so many family memories with this cabin and the fantastic private beach. The cabin is the perfect size for my family of four and the owners provide all the necessities which makes packing so much easier. I’ve never had any issues, we love the location, cabin, walking to the public beach and having access to a private beach. Thank you once again!

Summary: Third year staying at the cabin and enjoyed it just as much as the first two. Owners have always been pleasant and communicative and super helpful. If you’re looking for an escape from the city, to a simple dwelling with a beautiful beach where you can reconnect with the family this is the place! The cabin is the perfect size for my teen children and my partner and I. BBQ every night and enjoy the nature surrounding the cabin. Love this place.

Summary: Cabin was as described. The private beach was spectacular except for all the garbage everywhere. Sadly, folks felt no need to clean up after themselves and the property manager didn't clean anything up on the beach during our stay. The property itself had lots of garbage everywhere although this may have been on the neighbors space, it did detract from the secluded feel of the cabin. The wifi never worked, but we weren't there to be on devices during our stay. It would also have been nice if we didn't need to unplug the fridge to use the microwave to avoid blowing a fuse, but again, we made it work.

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this little cabin. Everything was clean, and we had all we needed for a really relaxing stay. The cabin is rustic and unpretentious, but that is exactly what we like. If you are the type of guest that needs granite counter tops, matching designer furniture, and an espresso machine, then keep scrolling. This is not your place. If you want a place that is clean, quiet, has its own private beach (!!!), and is just a simple place to build great memories, then look no further. We spend three nights of our tour around Ontario and agreed that more nights there would have been even better.

Summary: A great rustic cabin in the Woodsfield. Very comfortable beds and good amenities. I definitely want to go back, I love the place. The beach was just outstanding. Great location restaurants nearby grocery stores nearby. Easy in and out procedures.
