Located in Historic Downtown Morganton with local breweries, restaurants, shopping and bars.
Outdoor adventure awaits with Walking trails all around Morganton and short drive to Asheville, Blowing Rock, South Mountain, Boone, Grandfather Mountain and more.
Also very relaxing just to chill at our home. We supply many types of spices and a fully stocked cooking kitchen.
The backyard is fenced in for the four legged babies.
There are 4 rivers that slice thru Burke County's rolling foothills: Catawba, Linville, John's River, and Henry Fork.
•The Catawba River is named for the Native American tribe that lived here centuries ago. Catawba means "people of the river".
•Linville River located in the Wilderness area of Linville Gorge ("Grand Canyon of the East") was named for William Linville. He and his son John were killed by Indians in 1766.
•John's River is named for Gentleman John Perkins who acquired this land from the Lord Proprietor Earl of Granville after serving as guide to the Moravian Spangenberg party.
•Henry Fork is located in Eastern Burke near Hildebran.

Summary: The house is a beautifully kept up older home. The only thing we would mention is perhaps removing the Christmas decorations before April. We did not feel like it still belonged around the home. A small glitch getting the code for front door but it worked out.

Summary: We loved the location, charm, and high level of cleanliness of the Gillam property. The house was recently renovated and had all of the comforts of home including comfortable beds. The fenced in yard and porch gate was great for our (furry) girl, Pearl. We look forward to our next stay and appreciate y’all having us!

Summary: We had a wonderful stay at a perfectly sized home for my husband and me with our dogs. The Christmas tree, lights, and decorations was a nice touch and made us feel festive. We loved walking to the town for dinner and entertainment as well as driving to hiking trails. Our dogs over the backyar

Summary: We love our visits to Morganton and this was no exception. We enjoyed staying in town and being able to walk to buy groceries and lived the growing downtown. The home was super clean snd cozy and the holiday decorations really made it feel like home. Unfortunately our host was not feeling well and not as responsive as we are accustomed to when we needed help with a small issue. The gas fireplace was tricky to start and the tv remote system was unfamiliar and could use instructions which in both cases could have saved a lot of time trying to figure it out. We loved sharing this super comfortable home and would love to stay here again!!!
