Water's Edge Cabin on Lake Vallecito is a rustic WATERFRONT cabin located between Durango and Bayfield Colorado within walking distance to marina. Incredible views of the lake!
The rustic, comfortable, relaxed cabin-style home is situated in a rare, waterfront with a few other homes and cabins nearby. It is perched up and provides AMAZING views of Lake Vallecito. There are large multiple decks and a propane grill at the cabin. Our guests can fish, canoe and kayak directly from this home. Inside, there are views from the lake in every room of the house. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a comfortable living/dining area and kitchen.

* Queen Bed + Twin (2nd Floor)
* Twin Bed (2nd Floor)
LOCATION: In the heart of the Lake Vallecito recreation area, you are near the marina, hiking, biking and ATV trails, fishing, hunting, ice fishing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling - the San Juan wilderness area is at your doorstep! Vallecito also has a few restaurants and general stores. Appx 25 miles to downtown Durango and 50 miles to Purgatory Ski Resort.
COOLING: Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.
NOTE: The fireplace in the Great Room is operational; the fireplace in the bedroom is NOT operational.

Summary: We had a lot of fun, caught a bunch of fish and released them, it was very comfortable and a excellent location, right on the water,We would definitely stay there again, it rained every day 2 or 3 times and at night it would rain, sure was good sleeping weather, every one walking by with there dogs were nice friendly, and stopped and talked I talked to someone that was cleaning the cabin and she was very nice I would recommend staying there.

Summary: Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beautiful house and location. Directions need some work. Several finishing touches were two cabinet doors in kitchen didn't open and toilet was plumbed with hot water. Text discusses washer which is locked up downstairs. Would stay again

Summary: Right on the water with 2 decks with amazing views. Cabin was quaint and comfortable. Rafting and scenic train ride within 30 minutes. The property management company was easy to get ahold of and quick to respond.

Summary: The cabin is very cozy although the sleeping arrangement was a bit awkward. The bed downstairs (master bedroom?) has a double bed up against the wall so not ideal for a couple - one person would be up against the wall and have to crawl over the other person to use the bathroom. We opted to use the queen bed upstairs but there is no bathroom up there so we had to manage the stairs during the night to use the bathroom. The “master” downstairs has broken blinds on the window that looks directly into the neighbors house. The blinds don’t come down so I found an extra sheet in the closet upstairs to drape over the window for privacy. I am allergic/sensitive to scented soaps and itched for hours. I finally had to go downstairs and get fully dressed (including socks) in order to sleep. I travel a lot all over the world and almost all places use scent free laundry detergent but every once in a while I run into this problem. There was plenty of coffee but no filters. The property manager said that they weren’t provided but for that pricepoint they really should be. And why coffee but no filters? Strange! The property manager contacted me 10 times in two days which was over the top. They said to contact them if there was anything that could make our stay perfect and yet the one thing we wanted (coffee filters) was not provided and the local store was closed. So that suggestion was not helpful at all! And too many check out time reminders!
