4 Bedroom Cabin in Valona, Shellman Bluff

Visit this peaceful Georgia cabin rental for a kind of quiet you didn’t know still existed, as you visit the last remaining stretch of undeveloped Georgia coast.
The only sound you’ll hear at this serene 3-bedroom, 2-bath vacation rental in Shellman Bluff Georgia, is the breeze blowing through the Spanish moss on the oak trees that surround you.
Savor a coffee on the porch as you watch the sunrise before heading out to explore in kayaks using the private dock steps from the porch. Launch your own boat from nearby Shellman Bluff Fish Camp and tie up at your own private dock.
Smell the salt air mixed with the earthy aromas of the marsh. Take in the sunrise with a steaming hot cup of coffee on the best situated screened porch in Georgia.
Sit in wonder as Mother Nature constantly changes the artwork of light and wildlife with the ever-changing tides.
Catch your dinner off your own private dock: a bounty of blue crab, shrimp and fish.
At day’s end, look forward to a campfire under the stars and a delicious seafood dinner caught in your backyard.

(One note: Because of the way the VRBO software works, this is listed as a 4 bedroom cabin. A better explainer: There are two dedicated bedrooms. One is downstairs with a king-sized bed. The other is upstairs and has two queen-sized beds. The other two sleep spaces are a loft and the front sitting room which turns into a private bedroom with the use of a sliding pocket door. Both of these spaces have fold out couches that transform into queen-sized beds. If you are looking for a cookie cutter McMansion this is not your place. If you crave quirky comfort and a one of a kind place, please come see us!)

Summary: The house is wonderfully charming, the area is spectacular and the neighbors are the hosts-who are so kind and helpful! This place is so charming. It’s a special place with an unparalleled view. We saw dolphins in the marsh! It was lovely! It was secluded and so quiet it was almost disconcerting. You could actually feel the stress leaving your body when you turned down the driveway! We all loved it and we will be back.

Summary: We had a lovely time at Miss Lou’s cottage. The cottage was perfect for our needs and we and our dog Banjo had the most relaxing and peaceful time. I could sit all day on that screened porch watching the tides and the birds. Appreciated the kayaks and fishing poles for our use and the house was immaculate. Thanks for everything!

Summary: The drive in through the spanish moss covered oaks and low lying palms was a perfect entrance to Ms. Lou’s cabin. Our Hosts were incredibly accommodating providing everything we needed and gave us local knowledge of the area. We trailered our boat and utilized Harris Neck state park boat landing to launch as well as a a fish camp less than 10 mins away that has a nice hoist and live bait. Our highlight of the trip was exploring around Blackbeard Island with our dogs and spotting a seal! We absolutely loved sitting by the fire and relaxing on the dock at the end of the day. We can’t wait to come back.

Summary: Exceptional remote location, cozy beds, warm sunlight, comfy screened in porch and majestic oaks make this property an excellent place to unwind and enjoy nature. The fire pit is perfection and the awesome hosts made sure everything was just right. Squeaky clean but without all the over the top rules that are becoming standard in the VRBO rental community this home let's you relax and enjoy without any stress. Perfect for unplugging and reconnecting with nature and family. Highly recommend

Summary: It’s difficult to fully articulate what a transcendent experience I had at Ms. Lou’s this past long weekend. The house is charming, the views from every angle are so engaging; I just stared and stared, trying to take mental photos to thumb through at home when I'm sucked back into the maelstrom of real life . I think I loved the back screened porch the most; the perfect place to just sit quietly under the fan, watching the gently undulating Spanish moss in the live oaks in front of the cabin, the graceful egrets and cormorants flying in and out of the marsh, listening to each bird’s unique sound. I was easily able to lay down all the stress and worries that haunt so many of us in our daily lives and feel truly at peace. I honestly think that if I could just sit on the dock and watch the sun glinting off the Spartina grass and the inexorable movement of the tidal creek every day for the rest of my life, I'd be a contented person. Thanks Daryn for sharing your special place with us and allowing me that bliss!

Summary: My family (my Dad, Stepmom, Husband, myself, and our two daughters—8 & 10), go away every fall—typically to the mountains in Western North Carolina. Unfortunately, that area was devastated by Hurricane Helene. That is when I stumbled upon last minute availability at Ms. Lou’s Cabin. It’s tough to please people from aged 8 to 68! I never thought a marsh could be so beautiful. We enjoyed gorgeous sunrises, fishing (with poles provided), kayaked (with kayaks provided), and enjoyed the quiet family time. We also ventured to Jekyll Island and Savannah, which are both very doable (about an hour) day trips. The property is amazingly clean, and comfortable. Small things that made it stand out from other stays we have done were personalized directions, super simple check out without a list of chores to end your getaway and, recommendations specific to our family. Daryn was a great, extremely responsive host despiste being out of town during our stay. We will definitely be back!
