Summary: The property is literally in the middle of nowhere, which is what we were looking for. It was extremely spacious, relaxing and peaceful. (Bring lots of bug spray!) We caught lots of fish, which made our boys very happy. The cabin is 2 hours from Portland, Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park and an hour from Bangor so we were able to do lots of sightseeing, a whale watch, and attend the State Fair! Maine has so much to offer! It was an unforgettable vacation. Thank you!

Summary: We had a wonderful stay at this property on Mainstream Pond. We really felt as if we were away from everything but still had good access to wifi to stay as connected as we needed. The pond was wonderful for canoeing and swimming off the dock. The house was comfortable and gave us a great chance to spend some time as a family. Thanks!

Summary: We had a wonderful time at the property. Very secluded, quiet, and a very short walk to the lake. WiFi worked fine as did the tv, which made the kids happy. Owner was very prompt and responsive when we had questions about things (such as where to find moose!). We’d love to return again and very much enjoyed our stay.

Summary: We had a wonderful time. The cottage is comfortable and private. There is a locking gate for security. The owner replies to questions quickly and is proactive with solving problems. Everything is clean and neat. We'll be back next year.

Summary: Off the grid is no problem in this remote solar powered home. Private can't begin to describe the pond. In the week we were there we saw a total of zero people on the pond... no boats, no people, just loons, osprey, beaver and very large fish (don't use anything less than 12lb test). Star watching was amazing! The property is a lovely wood-walled 2 story cabin powered by a combination of solar panels and home generator, a State of the Art system. No issues no matter what the weather. It does has Dish tv, a phone, wood stove, and a nice deck. The owner is very responsive and the people in the area are very friendly. We recommend the Cambridge Country Store for a unique dining experience. A combination small country store and cafe, the owners are from Tennessee and love to cook. Any meal, any time, they are glad to feed you and your family. The Breakfast Nook is nice but only open on Thur-Sun mornings. The Harmony Country Store was nick-named 'the mall'. They have a little bit of EVERYTHING - from food, to hardware, to animal feed, to hunting/fishing gear to clothing... And if you need a dose of 'urban', Dexter isn't far at all. Of course, the Maine version of 'urban' is remarkably refreshing. This part of Maine is not your usual tourist destination, and what you find is what is simply real life for the residents. No water parks, no mini-golf, no chain restaurants. Its rural, real and quite remarkable. I would recommend this place IF you are looking for a remote, off the grid place where you can fish in solitude on miles and miles of clean Maine waters. Its not the best place for swimming for children from shore as it has been left 'natural', which is one of its charms. We travel every summer for family vacations, and our week at Harmony will certainly be one of the most 'memorable'.
