Hancock Point is a charming and quiet seaside community of summer homes and cottages that include community tennis courts, library, chapel and waterfront activities (swim/boat/fishing). The quaint community sits on a picturesque peninsula surrounded by Frenchman’s Bay and the Skillings River. Tennis (clay courts), kayak and sailing instructions are also available. The Crocker House, a local inn with gourmet cuisine, is in the center of the Point. Horseback riding and kayaking expeditions are also available locally.
The cottage is nestled across from the Hancock Point wharf/dock, overlooking the breathtaking waters of Frenchman’s Bay. It is easy walking distance to the Crocker House Country Inn/Restaurant, the Hancock Point library, chapel, Post Office and Village Green, tennis courts and the wharf.
Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park/Mt. Desert Island are a 30-40 Minute drive from the cottage. The town of Ellsworth is only a 15 minute drive, where you’ll find shopping, fine restaurants and cafes. Bangor International Airport is a 45 min. drive and the smaller Trenton Airport is just 20 min. away. In addition, the Bar Harbor Public Golf Course is just 20 min. from the cottage.

Summary: We had a wonderful time in this area of Maine. The location of the property is beautiful and the owners were very responsive and helpful! The home is spacious and the kitchen is very well stocked. Home is within a very reasonable driving distance to Acadia National Park. We would definitely return! Thank you!

Summary: We enjoyed our stay at 45 Wharf Road, very homey and a great location! Loved the kitchen and oversized living room, with everything you need to feel at home. It was a bit dusty and we dealt with some toilet issues that caused some stress over our stay. Other than that, Mr. Salisbury was quick to respond and pleasant to deal with! Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us so we could enjoy our stay in beautiful Maine.

Summary: This home was nice and fit our needs. A bit of a drive to Bar Harbor but the beauty of the area made it special. Home could used some updates but nice place for our needs.

Summary: We loved our trip to the Salisbury home. This home has all the comforts of home and offers everything that you will need. It is spacious and comfortable for the whole family. The view is amazing and the night sky is beautiful. Gifford is a wonderful host, and he has thought of everything right down to the local guy to purchase wood for the fire pit that is located on the property. The local community there is very welcoming and friendly when you are outside. We would defiantly recommend this location to anyone.

Summary: First thing everyone said when we walked in was “this is perfect!” Location was very nice. Right on the water and easily accessible to both sunrises and sunsets making the photographers in our group very happy. Beds were comfortable, good floor plan, all linens were clean and plentiful. Would stay here again.

Summary: My family truly enjoyed staying at the Hancock Point Cottage. The view of frenchmans bay is spectacular from this home. The house has great space for families with three bedrooms and a bath upstairs and one bedroom and a bath downstairs. The family room is spacious and the home is stocked with everything that you need. We loved making meals in the kitchen and playing games at the kitchen table. It's a short drive to Acadia National Park. Great memories thanks Gifford!

Summary: Hancock Point is quintessential Maine. This property is located across from the water and in the morning we had coffee watching seals frolic in the Harbor across from us. There is a spectacular Inn and Restaurant, The Crocker House, within walking distance. While Bar Harbor is about a half hour away, and we initially intended to to into Town both days, this location was so special and peaceful, we didn't want to leave.

Summary: This home has a beautiful view of the water. The living space was large and open. We found a short hiking trail through the woods and the neighborhood was quiet and friendly. Wish I brought my bicycle!! The owner was very accommodating when we had a change in our arrangement.

Summary: The home is a nice spot with lots of space for friends or family. The owners responded very quickly to a small issue we had with the previous tenant leaving garbage, which was awesome! The view is spectacular! What a great getaway from the busy-ness of life. I would say the master bed covers kept coming off the mattress because of the two twins pushed together. I would have preferred a queen size to trying to make that work. All the other beds were very comfortable. I’m sure some guests use the beds separately so it makes sense. Otherwise a great trip and home.
