Our Butternut Cabin was built in 2011. It has the modern conveniences of AC, heated floors, dishwasher and 2 way fireplace but keeps the feel of an up north cabin with use of wood and natural materials. The floor to ceiling windows facing the lake allow you to feel like you are outside in any season. The cabin floor plan is studio style with the gas 2-way fireplace separating the king sized bed from the living area. You can curl up, enjoy the scenery and warmth of the fire while reading a book or watching TV from the bed or living area. Free WiFi.

Summary: The Butternut Cabin is lovely. My husband, golden doodle, and I enjoyed the cabin-like feel but with all the modern amenities. Furnishings were very nice, view was great, and I said several times during our stay “If we were to build a cabin I would want something just like this.” Had fun taking the row boat out a couple times and was just a great place to relax and unwind.

Summary: I loved the Butternut Cabin and am thinking of coming again next year. It was large enough to have all the necessary items, beautiful bathroom and very comfortable bed. It was small enough so I could easily keep track of my 2 miniature Schnauzers and we enjoyed walking the grounds and the beach area. It was a very quiet location which was great for reading and naps.
