No pets are permitted and no exceptions will be considered. Located in one of the oldest communities on Lake James-Holiday Shores. Property has grass lawn all the way to the water wall (no steps)-a rare find on Lake James. Convenient to I-40, house is 5.2 miles from the interstate. House is approximately 2,000 feet on two levels. 3BR, 2BA. Upstairs has one bedroom with two twin beds, a second bedroom with a double bed, a full bath with tub, full kitchen, dining area, living area with HDTV and open air sundeck. Lower Level has the master bedroom with walk in cedar closet, bath with walk in shower, a small dining or game table, sink and microwave, washer and dryer, another living are with HD TV and a screened in porch with a swing. Entire house is hardwood floors or ceramic tile except master bedroom which is carpeted. Property includes private dock with a covered boat slip and sunning/swimming area. Roof of dock provides nice afternoon shade if desired. Dock has plenty of room for the sun lovers as well.

Summary: What a wonderful view/location! We very much enjoyed the porch and dock. The house and decor are definitely a bit dated, and the kitchen we found difficult to prepare a meal in (minimal counter space and no basics like olive oil, etc). However the sleeping areas were very comfortable, the house spacious, and the host extremely accommodating and easy to communicate with!

Summary: We have rented a home on Lake James a couple of times. We like to rent a boat so need something right on the water. This home was perfect for my husband and myself, our two teen sons and two of their friends (who stayed just a couple of days). Plenty of space for all of us. Great screened porch with a swinging bench where I spent many hours reading and enjoying the view. The kitchen had everything we needed to make all our meals. (The only additional thing that would have been nice is a pair of scissors.) Gantt was a gracious host, who was communicative, available and responsive to the few things we needed. We would definitely go back!

Summary: From the home, the breathtaking views, and the most gracious host, my family and I had a wonderful stay. Not very often does a vacation rental exceed expectations, but, this home does exactly that. What you see is exactly what you get. This immaculate home is located in a nice quiet neighborhood. Mr Stephens home is comfortable and tastefully decorated and has everything we needed for our stay. As a family who usually prefers to travel with our own bed linens and towels, we found those provided in the home to be top-notch! Most of our time was spent fishing, sunning, and swimming from the XL floating dock. The dock does get a little rocky on the busy lake weekends, but nothing too troublesome. Mr Stephens’ communications made for a smooth trip. Our thanks to the Stephens family for allowing us to share their beautiful home.

Summary: Great property, gorgeous views and a terrific host. Excellent water for swimming. I had a tough time getting in and out of the kayak from the floating dock, but frankly probably has more to due with a decrease in my agility. Ah, well… You will love this exceptional place.
