Welcome to The Lodge. This amazing 3 bedroom, 1 bath West Virginia Mountain vacation getaway is located conveniently less than 7 miles from Winterplace Ski Resort, UTV/ATV trails that lead to the Wagon Wheel and Hat Field and McCoy Trails, and 30 minutes to West Virginia's best white water rafting. The Retreat backs up to Camp Creek State Park and is 20 minutes to Pipe Stem State Park.
Upon entering, you'll love stepping into the beautiful kitchen fully equipped with pots and pans, cooking essentials, a coffee maker, and more! There is ample room for preparing, cooking, and entertaining. There is a beautiful dinning table that seats 6 and a nice area to drink coffee and enjoy the rock fireplace. The Lodge comfortably accommodates up to 9 people in a cozy home-away-from-home atmosphere.
Up stairs you will be welcomed by the wonderfully appointed living room with charming décor, with access to an upper level deck. porch. There is one King bed, 2 queen beds and a single over double bunk bed on this level.
The Lodge features a gorgeous full bath with tiled shower and full size washer and dryer.
Just outside the kitchen there is spacious covered porch to enjoy your morning coffee or evening sunsets and just steps away a fire pit for the cool mountain evenings.
Onsite spend the afternoon taking in the sights and sounds of our 53 acre property. Enjoy the walking trails, a small pond or spend the day relaxing beside the bubbling waters of the Camp Creek. Trout fishing is available creek side.

Summary: The house is beautiful and perfect for a family. We skied at Winterplace and it was about 15 minutes to get there - nice for a beginner family who didn't know how much time we wanted to spend on the slopes. It is quite remote so bring what you need and I imagine absolutely beautiful in the summer. The cabin is set up to sleep more than us but even the 4 of us had lines at the bathroom sometimes so I imagine full capacity would feel crowded. Host was very nice.

Summary: The cabin is beautiful and it looks better than the photos. The cabin had everything we needed plus a variety of games for the kids. We ate at a local Italian restaurant and toured various waterfalls. It was a perfect getaway in the woods for our family trip.

Summary: We had a great time and I highly recommend for anyone looking to head to the area. We used this as our home base while at New River Gorge NP and it was convenient/easy getting to/from the park. The home had everything you need for a great stay and was as-advertised.

Summary: Let me start off by saying this property was absolutely wonderful. Walking through the front door you are greeted with a clean new home, not to mention the layout of upstairs and downstairs. Downstairs your offered a nice little setting area where I propped my feet up and drank my coffee in the mornings. The kitchen is supplied with everything you need along with a huge refrigerator. Theres a covered patio with beautiful twinkling lights and a table to enjoy your meals or to set back and have a nice beverage along with quiet nature surroundings. Upstairs you will find what seems like 2 master bedrooms, and a additional room with bunk beds bottom being full size and top twin. It’s simply a beautiful open floor plan with plenty of sleeping areas along with a living room area and a huge tv. And let’s talk about the huge bathroom, if I could bring that home with me I would! We visited 3 national parks, Babcock where we got to climb to the top of a mountain and see beautiful sceneries , there is some fishing and sightseeing along some waterfalls. I also recommend pipestem national park and visit their lake with all the water activities, lots of fun for kids and adults, and Omgoodness don’t forget about the pipestem drive in movie theater!! So much fun with a great concession stand!! Last and not least new river gorge, followed by the Thurman haunted abandon town,. So much to do and the location of this VRBO was so close to everything. Can’t wIt to go back! Highly recommend! Kimberly B
