Summary: Rented this cabin for my husband and his 2 brothers to have a guys’ weekend. They loved the bedrooms and large living area. They fished off the shore, and played games at the large table, as it rained most of the weekend. They had a great time, and found it very relaxing. The host was very responsive and helpful. We are thinking of returning sometime for a couples’ weekend!

Summary: This was our 2nd trip to this home and it was even better the 2nd time. Communication is smooth and easy with Sherry. Our trips are very fishing centric and this rental is great for that. The fishing is great in the canal right out the back(from a boat or kayak) as well as around the lakes if you venture out, with smallmouth bass seeming fairly abundant ranging from the little guys up to 3+ lbs. Largemouth, pickerel, pumpkinseed and fall fish were also caught. I believe there are trout as well. We've noticed improvements around the house and property since our first stay which is always a positive sign. We'll be looking forward to staying here again in the future and would recommend to anyone considering this area.

Summary: One of my favorite trips ever. The property provided a comfortable and peaceful backdrop to our family time. My sister and niece live in SC.and we don"t get to visit often. We went kayaking, built campfires, made Smores, and even laid on the dock to look.at the beautiful night sky without light pollution. There were inside activities available for rainy days.

Summary: This trip was perfect from the cozy well-stocked cabin to the quiet area. We can’t say enough about this cabin on the lake, it was everything and more than we could have hoped for. Sherry was very accommodating and quick to respond when needed. We enjoyed kayaking and listening to the loons on the lake. We would love to return in the future.

Summary: We chose the Squirrel's Nest because it was within the 2024 eclipse path of totality. As a bonus it was near Bissel Brothers Three Rivers brewery and taproom, which I'd always wanted to visit but had little other reason to drive almost five hours just for a few beers. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay here. There was plenty of room for the four of us. The kitchen had everything one could need and was well stocked with many food items, which is not typical in most home rentals. We stayed in April so it was a bit chilly at night despite the warm daytime temperatures. To remedy the nightime chill, we fired up the wood burning stove and enjoyed hanging out playing games by the warmth of the stove. The bedrooms were comfortable and with the windows open a crack, we awoke to the sounds of loons swimming on the picturesque lake behind the house. There was still ice on the pond, but if we were here in warmer weather, there were three kayaks in the garage for our use. Maybe next time! I would very much reccommend the Squirrel's Nest for anyone looking for a secluded getaway in northern Maine to disconnect and relax.
