5 Bedroom Cottage in Hawley

The large gently sloped property has 150 feet of waterfront with a large 50 foot swimming & boat dock that can accommodate three 20+ foot boats.
One of the best views on the lake in one of the best areas. The house is located within a mile of a Super convenient enclave with a Great grocery store , drug store, sporting goods store, many Antique stores and now The Wallenpaupack Brewing Company micro brewery.
A great FREE state boat launch is minutes away. The Victorian town of Hawley, PA, is just another mile with more antique shops, surprisingly nice selection of fine restaurants and everyday eateries. stores, & live theater.
This is the good end of the lake, The other end is narrow and can make a round trip to the store, an hour. (It's a big Lake) The area is just full of stuff to do from a Sports Fun Park and really fun Animal petting zoo to paint ball and golf and a great Diving Range ⛳️🏌️‍♂️
On the calmer side there are nature walks, Triple W Ranch with horseback riding and The Lacawac Bird Sanctuary to name a few.
The house has 5 bedrooms, it was 6 but two where made into one large room (the bunk-room) which has 6 twin beds and a Full size in it. The other four bedrooms all have queen size. One bedroom ( the chaperone suite 😉 )is accessed through another bedroom
Tenants either, supply their own linens or may contract them for a charge which is the default option 🧺
There is a very large 27 x 40 lodge style living room. The kitchen is 12 x 30 and seats 10 - 12. There are 3 full and 1 half baths. The great room has a pool table, FOOSBALL table, regulation DART BOARD, a QUEEN size pull out bed a queen size futon & a full bath
No Smoking. Owner is a PA lic. Realtor
Pets are permitted upon approval (well trained and house broken, no clawing or gnawing, crated).
Perhaps bring a crate if the poor doggie 🐶 gets nervous alone in a strange place. 😇

Summary: This house was perfect for a big group. We rented it for our 12 year old boys who go to summer sleep away camp together to have a weekend getaway mid year. The house was so comfortable and the boys LOVED having a big bunk room to share all together and the long kitchen table where they could all gather and eat. The moms loved gathering in the large living room with plenty of seating for all. The location was beautiful right on the lake and we enjoyed watching sunrise over the frozen lake. It was also conveniently located close to some restaurants as well as a full grocery store and not too far from skiing. The owners were so communicative and responsive. It was great renting from them.

Summary: Beautiful older home in a fantastic location. The view is spectacular with easy access to the lake for most. People with mobility issues might find it a bit challenging as there are irregular sized steps. We visited over New Year but can imagine a wonderful time in the warmer months

Summary: Location was perfect for our family gathering. The cabin atmosphere was rustic and relaxing. The kitchen table worked nicely for our Thanksgiving meal. The extra dishwasher was a bonus. The owner supplied wood for the fireplace which was a nice touch. The family enjoyed the basement game room.

Summary: We were a family of 7 adults and 9 kids staying over. We had a great time, the house is spacious, very well maintained, enough room for a big family getaway. Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, including a very large table, extra towels, sheets along with washer and dryer on property (very convenient). Downstairs room was fun for kids, as well as the big yard and beach/dock area. Plenty of seating inside and outside, great fishing location and the view of the lake was truly amazing! Steve and PJ are very friendly hosts. We are definitely looking forward to make this a recurring trip!

Summary: First, I would like to say that the owners were so gracious and so easy to contact. We had absolutely no problems, but they communicated with us, even when we didn’t have a problem. The house and view and access to the lake could not be more perfect. The size was excellent. It had plenty of space for all of the kids and the adults. The huge kitchen and table was great for dinners and cooking. I especially liked the little hideaway cubbyhole restroom under the staircase. The kitchen was excellently stocked with plates and dishes and glasses and cookware and pots and pans more than any house I’ve ever stayed in before. No complaints in those areas. The neighbors were working on remodeling their home and there was a huge dumpster sitting at the top of their property and it obstructed the view trying to get in and out of the driveway. We found that very annoying, especially when cars were coming, and we couldn’t see them. Aside from that, our stay was excellent. I highly recommend this property.

Summary: The backyard was perfect. Places for sun and shade, lots of room, lots of chairs and a great view of the water from there and the house. Kitchen had everything we needed and two dishwashers! Owner communication was extremely prompt and informative. The house is very comfortable and kids loved the game room. Interior photos don’t do it justice. Read the reviews!

Summary: We had a great time at Windward Lodge. The house has a ton of room and a million dollar view of the lake. Steven is a great host. Definitely looking forward to staying again.

Summary: We stayed in the area for a family wedding. We had many family members stay with us. The house was spacious, clean, and had an amazing view of the water. The hosts were easy to contact. I would highly recommend this home and want to come back for a Poconos weekend :)
