Summary: Lovely house beautifully restored. Wide hall and stone staircase lead up to three great sized bedrooms, one ensuite and a huge family bathroom for the other two to share. Very well equipped kitchen with a lovely Smeg range cooker that was easy to use. Plenty of parking space, though be careful under the large plane tree as the birds stay there at night! Fortunately there was a hose nearby :-) Brilliant swimming pool to cool off in during the roasting hot latter parts of the day. Nice village with at least 4 boulangeries and a Carrefour supermarket 3 mins away. The bars in Generac are a little sparse, mainly just a bar for local men to drink at although one had a useful terrace outside. However, the house also has a terrace and we spent many an evening watching our children (adult ones) drink many of the bottles of wine we regularly bought!! So the lack of bars was hardly an inconvenience. For such a small village, there is a truly outstanding restaurant called L'Instant du Sud run by Franck & Ludivine - well, so good we went back two nights later to have different dishes on the menu as it was so hard to decide. Not only delicious beautifully presented food, but modestly priced. A real find and I will be back there next year!! All in all, when taking into account the bull taunting fete that occurs in early July, followed by Bastille Day fireworks (everywhere but we chose Aigues Mortes), a concert in the 2000 year old amphitheatre in Nîmes (Jamiroquai) and a trip around the Camargue added up to an absolute brilliant holiday for us all. Highly recommend and Cathy and Mike are delightful, helpful hosts.

Summary: We enjoyed two wonderful weeks in the house in Generac. The house works well and as the owners live on the property, they are within easy reach. All bedrooms are good and spacious and the house was nice and cool despite 30 degrees or more outside. The internet works to perfection in all areas of the house. In term of living room space - it is very advantageous when you can eat outside as it was a bit packed in the kitchen when we were all eating there (we were 11). However, we had 2 meals inside, the rest of time we were on the patio. The house has a patio in front of the house but no terrace on the back. The view from the patio is towards the gate/parking area and not the grass. All access to the property will go past the patio. There is two appartments on the back of the house and they are connected to the garden. You have to cross a stone area to come to the garden from the house. All 3 houses are sharing the pool. It worked very well for us and the shared pool is reflected in the price. We found the owners very accomodating and profesional and the area is full of sites to visit. It was extremely easy to walk to the local baker and boutcher and whilst Generac is not a beatiful little town, we found the locals very polite and helpful with a very good restaurant as well as good pizza. We would be happy to revert.

Summary: We felt us as home from the first moment and could always ask and get advice and wishes fullfilled either it conserned sightseeing or if anything missed. We were 10 persons in the house grandpa and grandma. 4 grown ups and 4 children (12 - 11 - 11 - 9 ) and it worked out just fine in 14 days The pool were in use every day. Pitty that our grandpa could not come out becaurse staircase and railing was not there. Kitchen is very good eqvipped. shops near by and a jolly oks/cow fighting on the arena in town were seen twice - great fun. We had rended 2 cars and enjoyed trips to the sea, castle, viaduct etc. Grandpa was walking with sticks/two sticks and were not comfortable to walk in town becaurse the lack of pavemant and lot of trafic. But all together we enjoied the stay and can recomment the house, the friendly hosts and all the lot to see around. Best wishes from Family Smaadahl

Summary: Lovely place , spent great evenings on the terrace drinking excellent local wine. Only 10 minutes from Nimes' airport, sure we'll comeback with friends.
