6 Bedroom House in Damascus, Lexington Township

Beautiful secluded log cabin surrounded by a gorgeous forest view. The 3500 square foot log cabin comfortably sleeps 16 people with 6 bedrooms and 4 full bathrooms! The cabin is located less than a mile from Berlin Lake with all the amenities a family or large group would want in a vacation property. Public access to Berlin Lake is a short walk, less than a mile away, great for kayaking and fishing. Enjoy the outdoors on any of the 3 porches, play games on the lawn, or relax in the evening around the fire pit in our biergarten.
I am available by phone and text. Emails are not actively monitored on weekends. Can also arrange to drop in via the Echo in the kitchen.
Located in Atwater, Ohio, just a mile from Berlin Lake, a perfect place for fishing and kayaking; a few miles from Alliance Ohio, home of the University of Mount Union. Canton and the Football Hall of Fame are only 25 minutes away. There are also quite a few breweries and wineries nearby. Akron and Youngstown are less than 30 minutes away.
You can walk to Berlin Lake and its public access point which is less than a mile away. Berlin Lake is connected to Deerfield Reservoir which has walking and riding trails. Plenty of other activities are within a short drive.
A few items about our family retreat.
- the cabin uses well water. It has been tested safe for everything; drinking, cooking, washing, and bathing. There is a common sulfur/egg smell. I would consider it slight. Others are more sensitive. No iron stains. There is a whole house water conditioner so the water is quite 'soft'. We do have a reverse osmosis filter on a water tap at the sink and the refrigerator water/ice.
- there will be mosquitos in the summertime. We'll have spray here, and we'll treat the Biergarten a few times each year.

Summary: The house is amazing, fully stocked, great spaces, and a truly big dining table. Great central fireplace. We had an issue with the septic system and they came out in the middle of the night and finished the very next day. They were really friendly throughout. Would love to come back!

Summary: Fantastic 2 night, 3 day stay for a wedding layover. Coming from NJ wanted to get a house that was close to the wedding venue and Football HOF that could accomidate 6 adults and 3 kids. The Winkler Wald house delivered with all of our needs. 1 large master bedroom with bathroom for our grandmother on lower level and 5 bedrooms upstairs which were also large. Kids had a blast with the bunk beds, toys throughout house, and especially the golf cart to joy ride around the property. Kitchen was very well stocked and organized, dining table was perfect for our family of 9. Bathrooms were clean, and everything was easily accessible. Didnt get to use the firepit and deck because of rain, but the owner left a stack of wood for us and had more available for a small fee. Great communication from the owner Mike and easy access to the property. Would definitely stay again if we were in the area.

Summary: Our stay at this beautiful large home was perfect for our family of 8 adults and 4 kids under the age of 5. Lots of outside games and a fun golf cart to ride around on. The Kitchen was amazing, well stocked with all your cooking needs. close to Alliance, Ohio and 30 minutes from Youngstown where we celebrated our dad's 90th birthday. 1hr. from Cleveland.

Summary: Host was courteous, liked the facility, huge backyard a plus. property is equipped with lot of intangibles for adults and children, like kayaks, bikes grill patios to name a few. very happy we could spend time here

Summary: We had 8 ladies who were so pleased with Mikes home. Lots of space both indoors and outdoors. Kitchen was so stocked with everything you would need. Not lacking anything. Large table for eating and playing games. Outside had plenty of table space, level yard for games and seating areas. No one complained about the beds. All good nights sleeps. Great home to rent for family or friends Jane & golf ladies

Summary: Our family gathered for the week to celebrate our parent's 50th anniversary. There were 13 of us for 2 nights and 9 for the rest of the week. There was plenty of space to gather and yet still could find a spot for a little quiet time if needed. The kitchen is large & has almost everything you need (we brought a salad spinner).We could all sit around the table for meals and to play games (plenty there to choose from, Anomia was a favorite). The outdoor space is great too, lots to do! While there we visited the Football Hall of Fame, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Cuyahoga Nat'l Park, and had dinner at a Hibachi restaurant in Cuyahoga Falls. We took the golf cart to the lake access not far away & then drove our cars to the Daily Use space on the other side of the lake for a little nicer spot to spend some time. Points to note: there is a varying degree of firmness of beds, if you are sensitive to that, try out the beds before selecting a room until you find one you like. And due to the sulfur odor, bring bottled water for drinking & brushing teeth. Neither of these things lowers my rating. Our experience at Winklerwald & with it's owners was outstanding from start to finish. Many thanks to Mike, Amy & Felix who responded quickly to every message. Not to mention they went above & beyond to answer questions, assist with a few things that came up during the week & even to ensure we had a blender onsite for Pina coladas (per my mom's request). We would definitely stay again!

Summary: Perfect setting for five couples who have stayed in many places over the years. This one was amazing and perfect for all of us in many ways. We cook all meals and loved the kitchen for this! Mike was the BEST host and quickly answered any questions and was so friendly and accommodating We immediately booked for next year. This property is a gem and bookings will fill the calendar quickly I have no doubt. 5 stars plus on this one !

Summary: This property was a perfect set up for our adult children and their spouses, plus our grandbaby to join us as we gathered in the area for the wedding of one of our son's. We were also able to include a couple of friends. With so many bedrooms and bathrooms, it was just what we needed. One thing I always look for in a vacation rental is a large table for dining. Our time together around the table is extremely important to us. It was such a blessing! We look forward to staying here again in the future when we can spend more time relaxing on the property.
