Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway only 1/2 mile from Mt Si trailhead.
A studio cottage guesthouse in our fenced backyard surrounded by trees. Incredibly serene and quiet.
Enjoy a nice walk to the river where you may bump into some amazing wildlife.
Take a soak in the jacuzzi tub or read by the electric fireplace. Enjoy your rest in a Sleep Number bed.
Nature and relaxation await! Cottage has a small window AC unit and heated by an in-wall heater and the electric fireplace for extra coziness.
Small backyard cottage, guests share yard with host family and 2 small dogs. If bringing your own pets, please make sure they are friendly with kids and other animals.
Full cottage and porch are yours. Please do not use back patio or approach back door of host home. Message or call host and we are happy to help with anything you need.
Happy to interact as much or as little as guests would like.
Very quiet neighborhood near Mt Si trailhead. Short walk to the river.
Parking available in assigned spot for one vehicle. Please discuss with host if more parking is needed.
The host home is only 50 yards from the cottage, please plan on possibly but rarely interacting with family and pets.

Summary: Perfect place for one or a couple. I spent most of the time hiking and this location is great if you want to hike the Cascades. The owner is very nice and very responsive. The cabin is very clean and has all of the amenities I need.

Summary: The Witch Hazel Cottage is such a peaceful stay. I couldn’t recommend it more. A fantastic wooded retreat that is mere minutes from town, but you wouldn’t think so. You’d swear you’re in a beautiful cabin in the woods. A wonder family of hosts which are very attentive to your needs during your stay. The property is well cared for and beautiful. I’m a Twin Peaks fan, and this cottage was perfect for my Twin Peaks filming location itinerary. You’re like 5-8 minutes from The Double R Diner (Twede’s Cafè) and many other stops you’d want to make. Don’t second guess it. The Witch Hazel Cottage is where you want to be.

Summary: Wonderfully charming property owned by friendly, very accommodating hosts. They are nothing but welcoming and helpful, and they eagerly worked right away to fix any and all issues with our stay. The cottage is just so magical in their patch of the forest and the nearby towns are full of charm and adventure. You'll be in a great location and great hands here!

Summary: Back for a second visit and Gentry is a great host! Great place to be close to the trails and a short distance by car into town and all the restaraunts and shops.

Summary: Cottage located at edge of owners’ property -nearby the trails and beauty of North Bend. 5 minute drive to restaurants and shops. Just the right size for 1 or a couple. Love the tongue and groove cedar ceiling-to bring warmth. Bathroom even fit in a smaller whirlpool tub/shower combo. Next time I will try out the whirlpool-just came to work and visit old friends.

Summary: I booked Witch Hazel Cottage for a long weekend to get some quiet, interruption-free writing done, and it was perfect. It also happened to be an unseasonably warm weekend, so I was nervous about it becoming uncomfortably hot in the room, but the hosts offered and set up a window a/c unit for me that kept things nice and cool. Really enjoyed my stay and will probably stay again the next time I need to get some deep work in!

Summary: I really enjoyed my stay. The cottage is in the hosts backyard, but they are totally unobtrusive. Communication with them was very fast, clear and easy. Highly recommend!

Summary: Was 5 stars up until the area wide electric blackout that lasted over 15 hours. Would recommend looking into repairing or acquiring backup power for future customers. Sleeping through that cold was unpleasant. I do appreciate however the initiative to bring us extra blankets, candles and a flashlight. Other than this little chilly ending to our stay, everything else was nothing less than fantastic. Location was beautiful and not too far from food, towns, etc. Quiet. Parking is simple and convenient. Felt safe and secure. Was wonderfully greeted by their very cute dogs. Unit was great. Enjoyed the jacuzzi very much.

Summary: This was the perfect place to stay for a long weekend of hiking! This cottage is conveniently located by many trailheads. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we enjoyed the jacuzzi as well! We were hoping to use the yard to run our dog around a bit but didn’t feel comfortable as the fenced area extends well beyond the family house’s yard and we didn’t want to encroach on anyone’s privacy. Overall this was the perfect little getaway and comfortably suits two guests.
