The interior of the villa, remarkably spacious, has been paid so much attention to detail as fine furniture and original vaulted ceilings, terracotta floors, chestnut beams and every kind of comfort. This wonderful property is surrounded by a beautiful and well-kept garden, embellished with beds of roses, rosmarine, flowering shrubs and various types of apples and lot of other plants,within which there is a wonderful SWIMMING POOL with with a UNIC VIEW all around with a large SITTING AREA and a covered patio for dinner al fresco.

Summary: Villa Belvedere is a rustic beauty. Absolutely stunning location and the only property I've ever stayed in which was better in real life than the listing! The villa has a relaxed, rustic charm and is well-equipped and very spacious for our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 teenagers). We certainly made good use of the swimming pool and hot tub (great location for star gazing!). We were met by Katia, the host who is charming and knowledgeable who showed us around, gave lots of advice and ideas on places to visit eat and things to do as well as providing an arrival package of basics along with the nicest cake. Panicale is a fabulous place with great restaurants and cafes and the most stunning views. As mentioned by other reviewers (and this may simply be Umbria in the summer) you need a good mosquito repellent as soon as the sun begins to dip. Thank you to Katia and Clare for such a lovely holiday experience.

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay in Panicale. The house has pretty much everything. Netflix is not receivable & the TV takes a bit of figuring out but there is a good collection of DVD movies. It’s not spick & span but there is a great variety of outdoor seating areas & we didn’t mind cutting back some of the vegetation which opened up some of the lovely views. The pool is a joy & well maintained. One thing we missed was that there was nothing in the fridge when we arrived on a Sunday evening - fortunately we had brought some essentials.

Summary: The villa was probably better than advertised -- very comfortable, with high quality furniture and kitchen equipment. Seating areas on three sides of the villa meant that you could always sit in the sun or shade, and the pool was large and clean! Visiting the Umbrian / Tuscan towns was pretty straightforward -- Assisi, Montepulciano, Perugia, Città del Pieve, etc -- were all very accessible and well worth visiting! We loved our two-week stay and would happily return. Only downside was the woodland that provides splendid isolation means that biting insects are prevalent in the evening; take an effective bug repellent! Katia was a great host, providing information and quick communication. Panicale is a beautiful village with friendly bars and restaurants, where you can't go wrong. Treat yourself!

Summary: We had a lovely time at the villa which was perfect for our family of 5. The villa was large and well-equipped with a lovely pool and great views of the Umbrian countryside. While the villa is secluded and private - set amongst oak and olive trees in the hills outside Panicale - it is only a short stroll into the beautiful village with its excellent cafes and restaurants. Katia was the perfect host - attentive, respectful and caring.

Summary: The villa was beautiful and rustic, just as we expected. Perfect views out over the valleys, extremely quiet and peaceful at all hours. Perfect for three couples, and there was a small bonus room with a foldaway bed for emergencies! It was a beautiful 20min stroll through olive groves to Panicale itself. Katia and team provided excellent service at all hours. Restaurants in Panicale itself were excellent, and we would absolutely recommend this to anyone.

Summary: We were two families staying in Panicale in July 2018, 4 adults and 4 children. We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend it highly to families with small children. The villa contains two separate apartments. The main apartment on the ground floor has a spacious kitchen/dining and living area, two ensuite, double bedrooms, a toilet/laundry room and a tiny bedroom/storage room. Both double bedrooms are large enough to fit an extra fold out bed (IKEA-style bed was available). The tiny extra room was used for storage during our stay, but it might be possible to use it as a separate bedroom for one person on the fold out bed. Both bedrooms, and also the living area, have AC units, allowing for a comfortable indoor temperature. The first floor apartment has a living area connected with a small kitchen. This living room has a ceiling fan, but no AC. There is also one ensuite double bedroom with AC. This bedroom can fit an extra fold out bed if needed, or the extra bed can be placed in the first floor living area. There is a second shower room just off the entrance hall on the first floor, which means anyone sleeping in the living area can have access to their separate shower room. All windows and doors are equipped with mosquito-nets. The garden and pool are beautiful with amazing views and lovely sitting and dining areas. We loved dining al fresco in the shade, relaxing in the outdoor sofa and in the jacuzzi. Sadly, barbeques are not allowed in the area due to the risk of forest fires. The pool is large and has 3 depth levels. The semi circle part is only 20cm deep and perfect for toddlers to play. The first half of the pool is suited for children up to 5-6 years of age, and the second half is deeper still and suited for older children. The pool area is sunny in the morning and until around 3PM. After this hour, most of the pool area is shaded by some large trees, however after 5PM the sun peeks through again underneath the branches here and there, providing some sun for sunbathing. The nearby village of Panicale has a few very nice restaurants, bars and gelaterias. There is also a small supermarket that is open Sunday morning. Every Thursday during summer, there is a market and music in the main Piazza in the evening. Paciano is another nearby village with nice restaurants. Thank you Katia for your warm welcome and service during our stay. We hope to be back some day.

Summary: Our stay was everything I was hoping for. The house is beautifully situated with views of the olive fields and countryside. The short walk into the village on a pleasant track through the hills was perfect to enjoy the views and made use of the car unnecessary except for trips to the many attractive neighbouring hilltop towns. The village of Panicale was enchanting in its visual appeal, and provided an array of coffee and dining experiences during our stay. Aldo’s cafe became our second home for morning coffee and evening drinks/meals, and the service was friendly and attentive. The house was comfortable and cool on warm days, and retained some heat on cooler days, which were few. The pool is beautiful and has great views, our teenagers spent many happy hours cooling off after day trips. We were very grateful for the friendly assistance and advice kindly given by Katia during our stay, and we were made to feel very welcome. Katia was immediately responsive and available to answer any queries or to provide assistance in organising our stay and in the time we were in Panicale. We would love to return in future and were sad to leave after a perfect stay. Grazie mille Katia.

Summary: We travelled as a family group of 7 people – Mum, Dad, 3 sons and 2 partners. From the moment that we were greeted by Katia who escorted us to the Villa Belvedere, we felt completely relaxed and at home. The villa is very spacious, clean and full of character and has all the amenities you could wish for – including a dishwasher, which wasn’t listed amongst the particulars. The most attractive features were the beautiful pool, the spacious grounds and the simply stunning views of the magnificent Umbrian countryside. The lovely town of Panicale is a 15-20 minute trek through the woods - the locals all gather in the village square for breakfast and the restaurants we visited all served excellent food accompanied by delicious local wine. There are numerous interesting and historic places to visit for day excursions – during our two week stay we visited Florence, Siena, Assisi, Perugia and Montepulciano. Closer to Panicale, we also made a few excursions to Castiglione del Lago – a lovely town with history dating back to the Etruscan times and numerous restaurants, including an excellent pizza restaurant. Other nice villages close to Panicale are Paciano and Corciano. In between sightseeing days, we just relaxed and chilled out around the pool reading books and enjoying the peace and quiet of our stunningly beautiful surroundings. Katia was an extremely friendly, generous and hospitable host, who is justifiably proud of her home town of Panicale. She was always available for advice and help, without ever being intrusive. During our stay she gave us kind gifts of home made cake, several bottles of excellent local wine and a huge bag of local tomatoes from which we made a delicious ragu. We have had several similar self-catering holidays as a family, but the Villa Belvedere is definitely the nicest place we have visited. Grazie mille Katia for making this a really memorable holiday!

Summary: My family enjoyed the most amazing week staying in this Villa in Panicale. The Villa itself is well positioned and had all the comforts of 'home'. Our teenage boys swam in the pool everyday and we also made the walk to Panicale village, which takes around 15 minutes on the forest track. There are various great options in the Village for eating and dining, amazing food and wine. Katia was a fabulous host and recommended local attractions and places to visit. She is also on hand to assist or ask questions which was appreciated. The communication prior and during our stay was excellent. We played golf at Lomborghini Golf club, a lovely course located 15 minutes from the Villa. We hired bikes to ride around Lake Trasimeno and enjoyed fresh produce from local villages. Our time here was extremely relaxing and we hope to return to this beautiful Village and Villa in Panicale.
