Summary: Marc was very helpful in providing all info for Gent and the surrounding area. Wonderful house, and honestly felt like staying in a brand new house. The best VRBO we have stayed in, of many VRBO houses. Thank you Marc! Wonderfully quiet neighborhood. Easy 10 minute De Lijn bus ride to city center.

Summary: I stayed at the lovely wooden house with my Mother and 1.5 year old son. Marc and his wife were so lovely, kind and helpful to us during our stay. Rest assured you can ask them anything and they will look after you as guests. The house is quirky, with interesting art work, fabulous kitchen and lounge area, with a great TV and wifi. There is also the bonus of a separate utility room leading to the garden. The house was spotlessly clean and warm and cosy. The area is safe and so quiet and peaceful at night! The local bus can be found just a few minutes walk away into the centre of Ghent (38/39) and the bus stop is down the road, turn left. We purchased a bus pass with 10 trips on the ticket from the local Carrefour supermarket (turn right at bottom of street, approx 10 minute walk). There is also a very large Carrefour which is only a 5 minute drive away (turn left at bottom of street and then left again at T junction). Dampoort train station is close by which we used to get a train to Antwerp. We drove to Bruges in 45 minutes and parked right in the centre in a car park called St John’s, which I recommend. Ghent is a beautiful city!! I recommend getting in by bus as this is much easier due to emission zones by car. Good places to visit with kids would be the Harry Malter Zoo and Blaarmeersen Lake had great parks and beaches for children, we saw after we visited that the 39 bus actually goes there direct from the wooden house. Summary: The cleanest house we have ever stayed in. Very comfortable, has everything you need and situated in a very quiet location but easy to get into Ghent by bus. Take time to look at all the interesting artwork around the house, my favourite was the kitchen clock! The hosts were lovely and very helpful. Parking space a great bonus and as the public transport system is so good we didn't use the car until it was time to go home. Lots to see in Ghent and the tourist information centre is very helpful, we bought the Ghent City Card, which definitely worked for us and you could use it to get the bus back to the Wooden house. From Ghent we took the train to Bruges, again very easy to do. Would definitely stay again if we came back to Ghent.

Summary: Good location for day trips (via auto or public transportation), very clean, comfortable, more than enough space for our family of four, outdoor patio for meals a plus. It was a a terrific home base for our trip. Owners are very friendly and really want their guests to enjoy their stay.

Summary: This house is amazingly nice,clean, modern, and spacious! Marc and Lut are excellent hosts and genuinely nice people. The amount of room in the house, the kitchen and other amenities, and the cleanliness were all great surprises. There is a bus line close to the house that takes you to the center of Ghent quickly. Carrefour has a very large supermarket a short drive up the road. Ghent itself is not only a very picturesque town but also is central to taking short trips to Antwerp, Bruges, and Ypres. (Take the train to Antwerp and/or park on the outskirts; the city traffic is horrible due to construction.) This is probably the nicest stay we have ever had through Homeaway. If we get back to Belgium, we would definitely return here.

Summary: This house is a well maintained wood built home. It is well appointed with modern appliances and designed in an ecologically sound manner It is situated in a leafy suburb of the city. It is the ideal location for touring Belgium. There is free parking outside the property.. The owners are helpful friendly. A good let.
