Positive: Characterful building in a beautiful historic village. The staff were very kind and helpful, the breakfast very good and the room nicely decorated, spotlessly clean and comfortable.
Negative: There was some noise from the adjoining rooms and outside the room from the car park which made sleeping difficult at first. The room was very small and a little stuffy.
Summary: Lovely! Would stay again but probably not in the single room

Positive: The room was very nice, the pub itself was also a very nice pub with character and a good atmosphere. Staff were all very good.
Negative: The shower over the bath was poor. Would have preferred a big dedicated shower with good water pressure. The toilet simply did not flush enough water and so required several fluches on every use just to get rid of paper. The breakfast was ok but for £176 per night could have been better quality and better cooked. Mushrooms and Sausage seriously overcooked. We also dined in the pub and the food again was ok but did not match the quality of the hotel for the cost. It was busy which means people obviously like it but for me it needed to be elevated. I had fish and chips and both the Peas and the Chips were not as good as i have had in other pubs. The fish was ok.
Summary: Although i was not entirely happy, I would stay here again. A few things need attention

Positive: The Woolpack Inn is charming and packed with character. We stayed overnight and used the restaurant and bar. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly. I can't recommend the Woolpack Inn highly enough and am looking for an excuse to visit again.
