Positive: The location was excellent, just what I wanted, horses roaming free outside the cottage gate.
Negative: There was no bath/shower mat and without it, it was slippery. I had to improvise so there were no accidents. As children are allowed at the cottage, a cot and high chair should be made available, if required.
Summary: Quiet, relaxing and ponies a plenty, fabulous to be in the forest.

Positive: We booked this trip as a special treat for my daughter’s 13th birthday—she’s absolutely horse-mad—and from the moment we arrived, it exceeded all expectations. We were greeted at the gate by four ponies, as if perfectly timed to welcome us, which instantly set the tone for a magical stay. I’ll admit I have very high standards when it comes to holiday accommodation. Cleanliness, attention to detail, and a sense of luxury are non-negotiable for me—and this cottage delivered on every level. The owner has renovated the property beautifully, maintaining its original charm while elevating it with high-end finishes and thoughtful touches throughout. The quality was evident in everything—from the crisp white cotton bed linen and hotel-standard pillows to the luxurious mattress topper and thick, fluffy towels neatly rolled at the end of each bed. The plush carpet looked and felt brand new, adding to the overall comfort and elegance of the space. We were a party of six, and I had initial concerns that the cottage might feel cramped, but it was surprisingly spacious. The kitchen was particularly impressive—not only large, but also exceptionally well-equipped. Every possible need had been considered. The location is truly idyllic, nestled right on the edge of the forest. Even without a car, you’d have no problem enjoying your stay, with beautiful walks on your doorstep and a welcoming local pub just a five-minute stroll away. The pub serves food until 9 p.m., and the staff and locals couldn’t have made us feel more at home.
