Positive: One of our more memorable stays in Japan. The host was very friendly and accommodating throughout. It was nice to have a chat with him in my broken Japanese 😂 Despite the old building, it felt clean, well-maintained and private. We booked the twin room without realising it would be so small (just enough space to lay out 2 futons side-by-side), but it turned out to be quite cozy! It would've been perfect with less bags, so we will consider onebagging if we ever have the chance to return to Matsue and this place. My only regret was not being able to try the cafe's food as we were constantly on the go. They sound delicious 🥲

Negative: The staircase was narrow and steep, so it would be troublesome for those with large luggage.

Positive: I loved everything about yohaku... the classic beautiful building, the cafe treats and coffee, the prime location, great bathroom/shower... but what I loved most was Kohei the owner! He treated us with such kindness and took care of us well. You can really tell he loves the place. Definelty the best place to truly experience the charm of Matsue, much better than a regular hotel! Thankyou Kohei!

Positive: Fantastic location; super friendly and helpful host. Quirky place in an exciting quarter of town! Lot's of interesting restaurants and shops in walking distance. excellent base to explore Matsue.

Negative: I was not so sure about sharing the common space with cafe guests but during our stay this was irrelevant as the cafe was not open during our stay.
