A "breathtaking private oasis" was the full term used by one of our guests in 2024. Set on 5.5 acres of forest adjacent to the Rogue River within the "Wild and Scenic" protected corridor, the house can be either an excellent romantic getaway or a fun-filled, whole-family retreat.
Take a float on the stretch of exciting rapids that run past the house; enjoy a day hike along the river to see salmon jumping the dramatic Rainie Falls; pack a picnic and cool off in nearby creeks; toss a line in the water for world-class fishing; or explore the amenities of the property, which include ping pong, volleyball, archery range (bring your own bow and arrows), or a quiet retreat sitting beside the river. The family can watch movies together in the living room, or the kids can play downstairs in the "game room," where there's board games and a separate TV for hooking up the DVD player or your own gaming devices.
This cedar shingle, 3-level house comfortably sleeps 6-8 people in 1 king, 2 queen, 2 twin-sized beds, and queen Murphy bed. It's perfect for two couples or a family with children. It is stocked, for your convenience, with a fully-equipped kitchen and laundry, as well as bedding, towels, and paper products. Satellite internet and WiFi are also provided (extra charge for data over 50 gb, only). Cellular calling is out of range, but iMessaging is good, as is WiFi calling.

Summary: We loved our stay in this home! It was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. We enjoyed bbq’ing on the deck, lounging in recliners by the river, playing volleyball and hanging on the property! The WiFi worked well our entire stay (no cell service in Galice which we knew booking the home). The house is also only 5 minutes to Galice Resort which had live music and food trucks all weekend! To get to the main bedroom with king bed upstairs, you do walk through another room with the twin beds and full size bed, but there are accordion room dividers to offer some privacy. The main bedroom upstairs and the bedroom on the lower level do not currently have drapes or blinds so bring your sleep masks! This property is truly incredibly and right on the river! The pictures barely do the outdoor space justice because it is massive and really well maintained! Highly recommend this home. Thank you for hosting us!

Summary: Host was a great. We enjoyed the house and it has a great view. This house is perfect for a family and friends stay. Bedrooms were perfect and kitchen as well as the living room. There is a good amount of property to explore and you can walk down to the river. We will stay here again.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay here so much. Being able to be right on the river was such a joy. The kids loved the ping pong table. If we come back we'll plan on doing some rafting - we saw several groups rafting or kayaking and it looked like a lot of fun. We also enjoyed the garden and the various birds in the area.

Summary: I will say this home is much better than I thought based on the photos. It’s large and has a lot of space and fit our group nicely. I stay at a lot of short term rentals around the US, so I may be a bit more opinionated, but I think this just depends on what you’re looking for. We wanted river front property so we can spend time in the river with just our group and the photos reflected that. However, not the case. You have to walk or drive to find river access. That part was disappointing because we paid more thinking we’d have private river access, and we didn’t. There were numerous short term rentals less expensive that were walkable to the river. I just think this should be in the description. There were a few other things as well that need addressing, but overall, if wanting a larger space to spend time with family or friends I think the rental is cozy and the property is nice. The kids liked the outdoor activities and the upstairs space.

Summary: We loved our stay. The house was well-kept and clean, and the kitchen was well-appointed. There was plenty of room for our group of six. We spent lots of time outdoors, playing ping pong, volleyball, and badminton and chatting and reading on the lawn or the deck, or just watching the Rogue and the birds flying over the hills. In the area, we hiked part of the Rogue River Trail and swam at Indian Mary's park (with a long side trip to the Oregon Caves Monument). Very dark and quiet at night, with incredible views of the stars. The grounds were lovely, with several acres of lawn, flowers, and landscaping. We highly recommend this rental for families or larger groups.

Summary: The location is amazing! Cute little cottage in the forest! You can hear the birds chirping, in the morning, the river, and the view from the master bedroom is amazing. Really relaxing also great for family gatherings. Ping ping table is fun! It is remote and no phone service internet service in area. The cottage does have Wi-Fi you can connect to but the connection isn’t the best. Make sure you stop by get groceries before you get to the cabin. The river is dangerous to access from cottage but they’d are places nearby if you have a car. Overall was an amazing cottage, has all utensils you need! Loved the place!

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay here, the grounds are spectacular with blooming flowers and a view of the river. The house easily accommodated a large group with three bathrooms plus multiple sleeping areas. So quiet and peaceful with the sound of the river and birds outside!

Summary: Before we even arrived we were excited about staying at this property. The location was perfect, and the pictures on the listing were pretty impressive. That said... the pictures on the listing don't even do this place justice. It was just amazing! The house itself was a standout, but beyond that the property that it sits on, right on the bank of the Rogue River, was incredible. Beautiful grounds that were more than just pretty to look at- the outdoor activities for the kids were perfect! The kids loved the ping pong table, and to have it situated not in some dingy basement, but nestled amongst the trees on a beautiful property- Wow! The house itself was incredible. Dad (myself) Loved grilling on the outdoor deck that overlooked the property and the river beyond. Mom (my wife) loved doing art projects with the kids next to the wall of picture windows with a view of the river. The many, many thoughtful touches in the house really pushed it to the next level. From the well stocked game room downstairs, to the linen closets that had everything we needed, to the knick knack drawers in the kitchen that had all those last minute bits and bobs that we had forgotten to bring. Very well laid out, we had everything we needed for our relaxing week long stay. Communication with the host was very well handled. Pamela was in communication with us before and after our stay. Any questions or concerns we had were responded to promptly and effectively. We would stay here again!

Summary: This home is truly stunning. It has been lovingly taken care of and tended too with great care. The home is spacious, very private and quiet. It is spread out over three levels so its ideal for large families or friends sharing. The home is well stocked and everything is super clean and fresh. There are lovely wall to wall, floor to ceiling windows in the large comfortable living room looking out to the river and gardens. The 5 acre gardens surrounding the home feel like a botanical garden with lovely lush trees, bushes, grassy areas and flowers. It is a magical setting that is a real "Wow". The grounds are set up with ping pong table, zip line, lounge chairs and more for your enjoyment. There is a care taker home on another part of the property so if you have any questions they are there to help. The owner Pamela is very responsive, accommodating and gracious. She wants to make your stay memorable and is very easy to communicate with. This is a remarkable property.
