Positive: They have a butler-like service arranged by the hotel. During my stay, Scott attended to me and help us book our National Forest park tickets. He even helps us with transportation arrangement. He is one of the few who can speak English and that helps a lot. He is definitely a plus for us to stay in the hotel. Location wise, the hotel is very close to the East entrance. Very convenient within walking distance.
Negative: The hotel is heavily booked with tour group. Breakfast is free for everyone and it can be very crowded daily. The food is nothing to fancy about.
Summary: Good stay reinforced by our butler Scott.

Positive: Review by a food enjoyer - The Borrman is located at a prime location just a few minutes walking distance from the eastern gate of ZJJ National Forest Park. Located next to the eastern gate is a KFC, Chagee, and Modern China Tea Shop. Eastern gate pretty much got you covered on the fried chicken and bubble tea front. It is also located right next to 2 of Dianping’s must eats in the area so if you want some local fare and are keen on saving time, this is a pretty ideal location. We booked The Borrman based on location and also reviews we read about the man of the hour - Scott. We connected to Scott through WhatsApp about three months before our trip to ZJJ. He agreed to help purchase tickets for us and told us he would run us through an itinerary when we got there. He also agreed to get us a ride from the railway to the hotel for 100 yuan, an offer I completely forgot about agreeing to until the day before. Thank god for Scott. I didn’t end up taking his offer but it was nice that he remembered. We arrived at the hotel at about 4:20pm in December. That’s less than 2 hours left of sunlight. Scott sat us down and took out a tour map, along with multiple colored markers (if you couldn’t tell, Scott is very organized) and traced out 2 routes for us to take during our stay at ZJJ. He then proceeded to send me the instructions in written form on WhatsApp. He also ordered our tickets for us so we didn’t have to spend 20 minutes staring at ticket prices and wondering what to get. We booked it out of the hotel and managed to see Tianzishan due to his instructions despite only about an hour of sunlight left in the day. We got a nice sunset view and some good pictures. For how late we got there, I’m glad we had Scott walk us through that itinerary. Definitely would have missed it otherwise. We ate at this restaurant across the street with incredible chicken soup. 10/10 you should eat there. Next day, we had breakfast in the lounge.

Positive: Walking distance to East Entrance. Be the first to enter and be ahead of the crowd. Almost no Q at Bailong Elevator, hence no need to pay VIP charges. New fittings in room. One can even switch off all the room lights and if you need to go the toilet or bathroom in middle of the night, the toilet bowl is lit. Good restaurants in the vicinity. Customer service personnel speaks English and offer to advise on day or multi-day trips. Able to purchase tickets on our behalf with the appropriate discounts. Standard check-out at 2.00pm allowed us to leave our luggage in the rooms and squeeze a morning trip to Grand Canyon Glass Bridge.
Negative: Nothing much to view from the windows of most rooms other than the adjacent building on each side of the hotel. Small offering of bread, cakes and cereal among the wide offering of Chinese buffet food.

Positive: The room was large and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Mangar Scott did a great job, helping with tour selection, payments, and restaurant selection (I recommend the restaurant on the corner to the left of the hotel; friendly service and good local food). He also helped with transportation to the next hotel. Breakfast was typical local food.
Negative: smoking cigarettes in elevators and corridors.
