Beautifully Appointed 1876 country house with sweeping lawns and an expansive, enclosed bluestone patio that is perfect for BBQs or roasting s'mores in the fire pit.
The house itself is spacious & loaded with charm. The kitchen is well-equipped with a butler's pantry formal dining room that seats 12 and overlooks the landscaped garden. A screened-in porch overlooks the lawns in front of the house. The large living room features a dramatic wood-burning fireplace, flat screen TV and comfortable seating. The master bedroom offers wonderful views of the woods and the occasional deer behind the house where acres of private hiking trails begin.
The large barn, situated by a stream, has been converted into a game room complete with pool, ping-pong, foosball, air hockey, a basketball game, darts, etc. This insures that even if the weather is bad, there is always something fun to do!
Even if a storm knocks out power in Woodstock rest assured our generator would kick in and restore power to everything.
The house is situated between Phoenicia & Woodstock and a short drive from local shops & farm stands.
Hiking Trails: The carriage trails are extensive. We border state land which is approx 150 acres and misc. neighboring land of 600 acres.

Summary: How to describe the most wonderful stay? Jim’s house is full of life and character - my family and I had everything we needed and more. We loved the game room, the pool and hot tub, the backyard patio, the teepee - as well as every room in the house. We were comfortable and relaxed and inspired! I would highly recommend this property to anyone - except I want to keep it a secret for myself! Really perfect.

Summary: We enjoyed everything about our stay. Jim was so nice, easy to work with and accessible It was clean and comfortable. Plenty of towels for the pool and baths. The pool and hot tub were wonderful. The two fourteen year olds loved it. Especially loved the game room. They spent a lot of time in there. They also took a walk on the trail. We didn’t hear the words “I’m bored” once. Kitchen is stocked. There are board games and books and DVDS. What an amazing vacation.

Summary: 1876 Eyebrow Colonial Home was an idyllic vacation spot for our extended family. The house and grounds are perfectly charming. The pool, hot tub, gardens and barn provided lots of fun entertainment for the whole family and a relaxing setting to hang out. Jim was very helpful and accommodating. His thoughtful hospitality provided everything we needed to enjoy and explore the beautiful surrounding area. We highly recommend this special property.

Summary: We chose this house to spend time with our family and spend quality time together. The house has many interesting features and areas to relax. Kitchen was well equipped and the separate pantry was a plus. We made good use of the Barn/ game room. We had our own family Olympics. Jaime was east to reach at all times. We will cherrish our family time.

Summary: Jim’s home is the most perfect rental- the best we’ve stayed at by far! Aside from the gorgeous house, grounds and game room, there are also so many touches that make this property feel like a home away from home. No detail has been spared and I truly can’t recommend it more highly. We are hoping to be back as it was a wonderful stay!

Summary: We were so happy to have found this gem at the foothills of the Catskills. It wa a perfect respite for our family during the Christmas holiday. The location, warmth of the property, and a little snow made it so much fun and homey. The hot tub was an awesome way to celebrate the end of the day. Jim gave us outstanding support and caring throughout the visit. This home would be a treasure at any time of the year.

Summary: James was very attentive. when we called with questions he stayed on the phone until we found everything. It was a charming farmhouse. We styed the last weekend in November and it snowed. That was beautiful my only disappointment was the hot tub is a distance from any door. So it was a chilly walk in and out. I we would definently go back in the summer for the poo;and the beautiful backyard.
