The properties are set on the owner’s working farm with beef, sheep and arable, with a woodland area and an abundance of wildlife including swans, ducks, geese, woodpeckers, deer and much more. Ideal for guests wanting to really explore the local area and beyond, with plenty of attractions within a close radius. Summary: Stayed for a long weekend with my husband. Property big enough for a family. Beautifully furnished & equipped with everything you could need. Situated on a working farm in the middle of the countryside. The Bothy caters for a fabulously relaxing holiday/break a stones throw away from Carlisle & Penrith, with lots to explore in the Lake District. The hosts Richard & Alison are lovely & Alison is very helpful with any queries you may have. Would highly recommend.

Summary: This is a lovely barn in a great location for exploring the lakes. The views surrounding the property are great. We enjoyed our stay, however, we found the beds to be very uncomfortable so did not sleep well during the stay. It would be lovely to have some lamps/floor lamps in the lounge to soften the atmosphere instead of bright overhead lighting. The hot tub was lovely to return to after a day in the lakes too, but we did feel a little uncomfortable with it being directly overlooked by the barn above. Summary: Loved our 4 night stay at The Bothy. Couldn’t fault the property in any way. Well equipped with everything you could possibly need, a home from home feel. The location is very remote and the local amenities are a drive away but that was part of the reason we booked. The hot tub was a perfect way to relax. Summary: The Bothy was excellent it has a nice mix of period charm and modern style. It was spotless and very clean, it also had two complete wetrooms. Both the owners were very friendly and helpful with the hot tub being truly amazing, I know a lot of people say they will be back but we will definitely be back.
