Sympathetically converted farm buildings, retaining original features, offering a very good standard of accommodation. Located at the end of an unmade road, they sit quietly in this rural community, yet they are within easy driving distance of the city of Chester, famous for being a walled city with its unique half timbered galleried shops and its Victorian Eastgate clock - said to be the most photographed timepiece in the world after Big Ben. Shops, restaurants and history are all to be found here. Chester has the largest amphitheatre in Britain, a 10th century cathedral, two renowned museums - the Grosvenor and Military Museums, and not forgetting the zoo! The walk around the walls is approximately 2 miles and offers a birdseye view of the city centre with views across to Wales’ magnificent mountains. Cheshire Oaks retail outlet village is a short drive away. At the end of the lane is the Beachin therapy swimming pool for dogs. Malpas, with its magpie style houses, Beeston with its castle, Tattenhall where the Cheshire Farm Dairy ice cream is made and Farndon which links Cheshire to Wales by a sandstone bridge are all an easy drive. Cheshire is also the gateway to some of the finest English countryside and Welsh borderlands. Golf is available within 2 miles of the property. Shop 5 miles, pub 2 miles.

Summary: Very nice cottage, has all the conveniences that you have at home. Very nice lay out and very warm. Nearest pub is a short drive away.

Summary: Lovely, warm and cosy cottage. Very spacious and having two bathrooms was a real plus. The enclosed area at the back of the cottage was ideal for our dog. The owners were very friendly, and a nice touch was leaving a few dog biscuits to welcome our dog! It was nice to have washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, tea, coffee, milk in the fridge - this doesn’t always happen at some cottages so really appreciated. Unless it was hidden somewhere, I don’t think there was a hairdryer.

Summary: Fantastic time had here, so peaceful, travelled with my husband daughter and granddaughter with the intention of visiting Chester Zoo and the Ice Cream Farm, owner recommended the Blue Planet that we didn’t know about, went on a rainy day and it was amazing! Will definitely be going back. If you are happy to be in the ‘back and beyond ‘ then this is the place for you, if you want to be in the thick of things you will have to travel

Summary: Major drawback was having to negotiate badly potholed access road and due to the position of the cottage with the cow barns flies were a problem. No frills but otherwise good

Summary: Very rural but only 20 mins from most activities. Peaceful location & great cottage.

Summary: It’s the cleanliness that let this property down. It was dusty, there was litter under a bedside cabinet and somebody else’s clothes in one of the drawers. Was almost impossible to have a relaxing bath because the hot water was temperamental.

Summary: Great stay at the Dairy. The cottage is near a few farms and there are always some cows on view, which my daughter loved. Supermarkets/pubs/restaurants are about a 10-20 minute drive away and Chester (zoo/outlet/city centre) itself is not too far. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen has everything that you need. As you are out in the countryside, there will be a few spiders around, if you can get past this you will love it here. Its nice and cosy, and there are 4 cottages in total.
