We are happy to welcome you to a 19th century farmhouse completely renovated with quality materials and with all modern comforts (110 m2), on the edge of the woods of St Jean du Grais and 15 kms from Tours.
Our cottage has a large garden with the flowery terrace area facing south, suitable for rest in a green setting.
Le Clos des Buis (property of 6000 m2), near the hunting lodge of François 1er and a 12th century priory, is at the crossroads of the main castles of the Loire (Chenonceaux: 18 kms, Amboise, Villandry: 22 kms, Chambord: 70kms).
The municipality of Azay sur Cher (3500 inhabitants) participates in the regional program of the Cher cycling trails, and benefits from all the amenities (bakeries, tobacconist, pharmacy, supermarkets and a store of local products in short circuit also open on Sunday morning).

Summary: Us, son daughter in law grandson and sister ages from 10 months to 62. This was the perfect place from which to explore the Loire Valley. Bruno and Valerie are perfect hosts and the gites have everything you could want. Highly recommended

Summary: The property was exactly what we wanted. It was a great home base after seeing the local chateaus and towns. We would go out in the morning and come back with the kids to play in the pool, and grill outside and enjoy the property. While out a bit on its own (which was perfect for us to relax), it was still close enough to a good grocery store (5 minutes) and all the main attractions (Amboise 25 minutes), Tours (15 minutes), Chateaus (between 25 and 45 minutes). As everyone has said, Valerie and Bruno were exceptional hosts, even providing fresh eggs from their chickens. It's always a toss up with some of the VRBO properties, but this was as advertised. Thanks for hosting at such a great property!

Summary: The home is wonderfully updated and was spotless. The kitchen was beautiful and well equipped. Valerie and Bruno thought of everything. Anything we needed was available. This is truly a wonderful home in a great location to explore the Loire valley. I would definitely recommend this property.

Summary: We had a wonderful time, we were very sad to leave. Valerie and Bruno are lovely hosts, very welcoming. The property was so clean and comfortable. I'd recommend the property on the basis of the en-suite shower alone! I wondered what it would be like, given that it is on a crossroads, but really, that was never an issue. Azay-sur-Cher is a charming village, enjoyed spending time by the river Cher as well as exploring some of the beautiful places nearby, especially Beauval Zoo. Many thanks for our stay, we had a great time.

Summary: Our family of 4 (including two teens) absolutely loved staying in Valerie and Bruno’s lovely country home. The setting and location were perfect for us, as we could easily drive into Cher for the bakery, or over to Amboise for meals, shopping, groceries. We toured the castles and quaint towns all day every day and came home to relax with a glass of wine outside and ate dinner under the grape arbor. Everything in this newly renovated farmhouse is absolutely pristine and immaculately clean (something I appreciate as a neat freak myself) and Valerie and Bruno have thought of every single detail to make their guests comfortable! They were also very accessible as they live very nearby and responded to questions immediately. Highlights: Chenonceau, Chambord, the Sunday market in Amboise, date night dinner at the fabulous (yet oddly inexpensive) Michelin Star restaurant La Boulaye (they accommodated me as a vegetarian and gave me the best meal I’ve enjoyed in years). We could have happily stayed a whole week here. Thank you Valerie and Bruno for your kindness and hospitality!

Summary: Our party comprised one 60+ couple who are familiar with France accompanying another 60+ couple on their first visit. Valerie's and Bruno's cottage at Azay sur Cher was the perfect base for a week in the Loire under perfect skies. Our hosts were also most welcoming, so much so that even the car seemed to know it was somewhere special😉. The cottage is all on one level and beautifully appointed. Entering through a very modern kitchen opening onto a spacious dining room & lounge there are two very comfortable bedrooms, each with its own shower/bathing & toilet facilities. An outside terrace has a table for six under a wicker-type sun screen at which we ate all our meals. Two supermarkets are less than 5 minutes drive away and the village of Azay has two boulanger/patisserie, the one of which we frequented was excellent. As a base from which to explore les Chateaux de la Loire, it could not be bettered. Chenonceau is virtually on the doorstep. Azay les Rideau and Vallencay about half an hour's drive away and Chambord at twice the distance was no hassle. All in all we had a very happy week touring, and probably eating and drinking too much. 5-star plus is our rating.

Summary: We have just returned from a 15 day stay at The Clos des Buis and it couldn't have gone any better. We were warmly greeted by Bruno and Valérie upon our arrival. Their kindness, warmth, and responsiveness to any need were a big part of what made our trip so enjoyable. The gÎte is conveniently located near many of the chateaux including Chenonceau and Villandry and a 20 minute drive to beautiful Amboise and Tours. Only three kilometers from the Cher River and Azay-sur-Cher, where we could drop in at the local patisserie or take long walks along the banks of the Cher River on a path dedicated to cyclists and pedestrians were highlights. The region offers so many fun opportunities to learn about history, canoe the rivers, or bike along their many bike paths. The region is beautiful, dotted with quaint villages, fields, and forests. The recently and tastefully remodeled farmhouse was very comfortable. The kitchen is equipped with anything that you might need to prepare a meal. One of the important issues for us when visiting France is always the size of the bed since my husband is 6'5". The master bedroom has a king sized bed and an excellent mattress. Each bedroom has shutters that close and the master bedroom also has blackout curtains. We slept better here than we sleep in our own home. I highly recommend a stay at this location.
