Summary: Our family loved fishing on the dock, seeing tadpoles, frogs, and crayfish, and swimming at the public beach (too muddy at the dock for little kids). The lake is very quiet and peaceful at night. Heard the loons and looked at the stars from the hot tub. Property is very clean. Anntoneth answered all of our questions quickly! The house is on Shagg Pond in Sumner ME for iPhone users! This will help with locating the property.

Summary: Property was cleaned well but there was a weird smell in trash closet. Beds are too soft. Place is very quit and peaceful

Summary: We loved our stay at Anntoneth's place! It was very comfortable, charmingly furnished, and well located to spend time out on the water. We spent our days hiking with the pup, rowing out on the lake, and just generally lounging in a wooded setting. Evenings watching movies on the large-screen TV with many cable options. The kitchen is well furnished with all the tools & appliances you need. Antonneth has thought of everything. My one caveat is that if you are an avid fisher (like I am), manage your expectations. The pond is beautiful, and it is indeed stocked with trout. But I learned after the fact that the stocking took place in April, and by the time we visited in late July the pond was pretty well fished out. I fished every day, every part of the pond, every depth, every lure I could think of, and every different time of day, and all I caught were one very small catfish, one small perch, and dozens of tiny bluegills. It turns out the lake was "chemically reclaimed" many years ago, which means the natural populations of other fish such as bass were eradicated. But that's just a minor point. It was super fun to be out on the water in this lovely setting. We were especially grateful that dogs are allowed. We try to travel with the pup when we can, and she loved it too. She loved all the woods walks we took her on, or just hanging out on the deck with us. If you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle and just kick back at a comfortable place in the woods and on a pristine lake, this is a great place!

Summary: Well kept cabin with good cooking equipment, stove, BBQ. Pleasant use of canoe and row boat. Swimming opportunities. No a/c, but nice ceiling fans. Roads unpaved but passable. Nice place.

Summary: My husband and I (and our pup) had a wonderful stay at Ann’s cabin. It was clean, comfortable, roomy, and the pond near the house was spectacular. It’s just an 8 min walk up the road to several great hiking trails, there’s a personal dock at the pond with canoes that guests can borrow (shared between this and another property), and a bonfire pit with Comfy chairs and firewood galore. Our only inconvenience was the slower internet (which is expected in such a remote area we learned). Ann was a very communicative, kind, and attentive host!

Summary: This was my wife and my first trip to Maine and we greatly enjoyed the four nights we spent at this cabin. The pond and area are beautiful. We found the area and cabin quiet and relaxing. The gas grill was was clean and had a backup cylinder. The cool nights (dipped into the 40's) made the fireplace very nice. Anntoneth took care of everything for us and we hope to return one day. Highly recommend!

Summary: Nice cabin off the water with shared access to a beautiful pond. Second, larger cabin on property with direct water access is a few hundred feet away. The owners are very nice and responsive. Swimming not great from owner access point; better at the small public access point nearby (this could be improved by owner installing a swim ladder from their dock). Nice hiking trails within walking distance. Hike to beautiful little Concord Pond for nice swimming or bald mountain and speckled mountain for views. Only issue is a Personal pet peeve that is the same with most VRBO rental properties: old mattresses that should be replaced. However, we enjoyed our stay nonetheless!
