3 Bears at South Shore Vista is a self-contained, charming little cottage overlooking the elevated Eastern shore of the island located less than 3 miles from town. The cabin is a one room studio style layout with a kitchen, bathroom & living area with a cozy loft featuring a king bed and reading nook. The loft features a faux electric fireplace, low ceiling, warm lighting and beautiful views to offer a snugly retreat after a day or night of island adventures.
This Amish-built log cabin is the perfect place to relax and disconnect from the outside world. You will experience breathtaking views of Lake Superior from your bedroom, kitchen, covered front porch or your own screened gazebo with gas fire pit. The moon and sunrises are spectacular! The clear, dark sky invites stargazing around the fire. Yes, there is WiFi to keep you connected if you would like to, but no TV. This is a great cabin for those looking for convenient, comfortable relaxation, contemplation, the pursuit of artistic inspiration or simply getting away from it all
The cabin looks East to the lake. This property is on a 70' high bluff at the shore, so it has great views, but no access to the water below. Guests have their own 10’x12' screened gazebo at the lake edge on the top of the bluff with a gas fire pit. The property owners’ personal summer cabin is located on the same parcel of land about 100 yards away and is occupied from time to time.
Please note - to help with meal planning - this cabin does have a refrigerator/freezer, smaller-sized oven, a microwave, two burner gas cook top and gas grill.
Items that you will need to bring:
Food, Beverages, Coffee or K-cups,
Condiments including salt & pepper, ketchup, mustard, oils etc. –
(Wisconsin rental regulations require that all condiments must be removed
after each rental)
Additional towels for going to the beach (bath towels provided are for use
inside the property not to be taken outside or to the beach)

Summary: We just loved it! 2 of us and our small dog. The view is unbelievable, it really is a magical place. This is a very small but well equipped, tastefully decorated lil gem. The large bed is in a loft with little headspace for any tall people. Yes, the gazebo is private to the renters. There are neighbors on both sides, so not super private. We met the closest neighbors and they were very nice and quite knowledgeable about the island, etc. While we were there, we had deer and hummingbirds in the yard daily, and even spotted a coyote one evening. There is a small store on the island and a slightly larger one in Bayfield. We rode our bikes most of the time and always enjoy a nice cold Margarita at Tom's burned down bar. The kid at the bike/rental shop was super helpful as well, sorry that I can't recall his name.

Summary: The cabin was exactly what we needed for a weekend away! The area overlooking the water was our favorite part with views of sunset and sunrise. The place has a well stocked kitchen with just the right amount of stuff to prepare meals. The owners were great to work with! We left behind an item that they even shipped out to us which we were so appreciative of. Book this cabin! You won’t regret it.

Summary: A cozy space to get away from everything. Only a 10 minute bike ride from town and the ferry back to Bayfield, this hideaway is an ideal home base to see the area.

Summary: Very pleasant location and decor, and generally well equipped. Renters may want to know that the sleeping area ceiling is only five feet high, and that the house has a holding tank instead of a septic system.

Summary: We spent a wonderful week at this cozy little cabin in the woods. I stress that the cabin is little, but it is perfectly sized for a vacation for 2. The location is perfect, with sunrise and moonrise views of Lake Superior. You can easily bike to town, or the amazing state park, or grab a good book and just kick back and relax in the covered gazebo. There is plenty to do on or around the island, plus the ferry runs regularly enough that it's easy to head to Bayfield and the surrounding area for the day. There is something for everyone on Madeline Island!
