Summary: We stayed here with 3 couples for a week while we were on our yearly motorcycle trip. The house was very comfortable and had plenty of space for us. The location was great and the neighbors were very friendly. We had a chance to enjoy the porch and watch the wildlife. If you visit, make sure you eat at the North Star Restaurant! Jennifer was always available and helpful during our entire stay. We would definitely come back to stay if we are in the area again.

Summary: We were in the area to attend and celebrate a Virginia Tech graduation. Our family was delighted with this lovely, immaculately clean, quiet spot just a short drive from I-81. The house sits on a hill with expansive views of meadow and rolling hills. Jennifer was quick to respond to any question or need. Jennifer is a 5 star hostess! We would definitely choose to stay here if we're in the again.

Summary: What a marvelous Vrbo! My husband and his daughter's family rented this house for a 3-night stay and thoroughly enjoyed their time there. Jennifer, the hostess, was very prompt with her communications and a real pleasure to deal with. The house is located in a quiet, peaceful setting and the front porch offers a magnificent view of the sun rising over the Blue Ridge mountains. There are plenty of things to do and see, just a short ride from the house, that will keep the entire family entertained; the highlight for my husband's young grandchildren was the drive thru Safari Park. The interior of the home was clean, nicely decorated and well-equipped, and the layout of it was perfect. The way the bedrooms are situated, my husband had his own quiet space at night, while his daughter's family had their private area with two bedrooms, a bath, and a separate living room where the children could play. Overall, they couldn't have asked for a better Vrbo rental. My husband insists we return to the home and take some time together, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. I'm looking forward to it after hearing so many wonderful things about this Vrbo!

Summary: We came with another couple to go motorcycling around the area. Jennifer was an amazing host and excellent with communicating and giving tips on where to ride, and also very accommodating and responsive to any questions. We absolutely LOVED the house, it was perfect for two couples to share(could also be good for families). The home is so beautifully decorated and the covered porch is where we spent most of our time while at the house. I personally appreciated all the landscaping, hammock and dark night sky. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back soon :)

Summary: We've stayed at a large number of VRBO's over the yeas, and this has been our favorite. The house has a nice open floor plan that lends itself to family gatherings. We were preparing for a local anniversary celebration, and the kitchen is as well-equipped (if not more so) than my own kitchen - it had absolutely everything we needed. We enjoyed spending time on the covered porch and gazing out to the ponds and surrounding mountains. We loved the location. Even though it appears to be off the beaten path, the location is perfect - close to Interstate 81 for easy access to the highway, about ten - fifteen minutes from the cute little town of Buchanan, and the James River is only about ten minutes away. The perfect place to stay if one is floating the James as one of the river accesses is very close. The house was spotless, inside and out, and the many special touches the owners have added made it feel like home away from home. With family in the area, this was the perfect house for us - we plan to return!

Summary: We had the chance to take an impromptu trip. We came across this property and immediately wanted to book it based on the seculded location and how great the listing looked. Once we arrived we knew we made the right choice. The house was exactly as the photos showed. The place was amazing! The wide open space, the views of the Blue Ridge mountains and how close it was to the upper James River where you can kayak, canoe, tube, etc.. The owners were so wonderful and accomodating. They truly went the extra mile to make sure our stay was not only enjoyable but memorable. It is set off from the beaten path but not too far from Roanoke and other areas that have lots of restaurants and shopping. But truth be told we decided to stay local and make every meal in the amazing and well equipped kitchen. We will definitely stay here again!
