Ideal for exploring Ardnamurchan Peninsula, delightful detached cottage, idyllic lochside setting, with spectacular views to islands of Eigg and Rhum.. This detached holiday cottage is situated in an enviable Lochside location, with breath-taking views across Arivegaig Bay, Kentra Bay and towards the islands of Eigg and Rhum. Set amidst some of the finest scenery in Scotland and surrounded by an abundance of wildlife, including badgers and pine martins which can be seen on the outside table almost every night. You can watch from the living room sofa and if you are a wildlife enthusiast you can even bring some of their favourite snacks, peanuts, and peanut butter to view them in all their glory!
MacNeils Croft is a perfect base for those wishing to explore the west coast, especially the Ardnamurchan Peninsula. There are plenty of historic sites, castles, and gardens to visit. Walk to the famous Singing Sands, take a short boat trip to one of the Inner Isles, visit Glenborrodale Visitor Centre or climb the Glenfinnan monument. The area is an ideal location for mountain biking, fishing, climbing, kayaking, and birdwatching. Shop, pub, and restaurant 3 miles.. Ground floor.

Summary: An absolutely lovely property. Very cosy and warm and a wonderful wood burning stove to add to the cosy atmosphere. This property has everything you need and is even bigger than it looks in the photos. The views from the front are the best we've ever experienced from a cottage and great walks right from the door. Summary: Enjoyed our week here, beautiful location and sofas and comfy beds. A lovely garden to the rear of the property and the atmosphere was very quiet and peaceful where you could just sit and watch the tidal ebb and flow. Being regular cottage users in Scotland perhaps the only very minor suggestions we would have to offer would be we found the log fire difficult to keep in and a knife sharpener would also be a useful addition. Summary: Superb cottage! Our family of 6 (inc 4 young children) loved it. Loads of space, comfy beds, brilliantly equipped kitchen, and fantastic views over Kentra Bay to the Small Isles. Great wildlife spotting - Osprey, Sea Eagle and loads of other birds from the door; sadly no pine marten sightings for us but they are around. And plenty of sheep. We love this part of Scotland and visited Sanna Bay, Castle Tioram, and Mallaig. We walked up Ben Hiant, and did the walk to Singing Sands from the door. The track up to the cottage is pretty rough but that only adds to the remote feel. (There are a couple of holiday caravans next door but there are lots of trees between so totally private). WiFi is fine for planning trips and checking weather but not for streaming - but there are tvs in every room. A friendly welcome from Sean in arrival. Fantastic place. Summary: Super house, great location. Brilliant trek over to The singing sands, lots of crabbing on the doorstep and the friendly sheep grazing. Midnight guest in the garden a young badger.
