Summary: This is a lovely, well equipped and comfortable cottage in the Northumbrian countryside on the edge of the Northumberland National Park. Away from it all and peaceful yet a well stocked shop and petrol station a ten minute drive away. Views of fields, hills and sheep all around with a huge garden, and although the owners are very close and on hand with a lovely welcome and useful information it felt very private and secluded. We used it as a base to travel around to see Hadrian’s Wall, Lindisfarne/Holy Island and Alnwick Castle amongst other places, but if we’d had another week would have just chilled out around the cottage and garden as everything is there that you need and it’s so spacious and comfortable. Would definitely return if having another holiday in the area. Thanks to Nick and Oonagh for their welcome!

Summary: We had an excellent holiday at Croft Cottage. The cottage owner could not have been more helpful and made sure that we had everything that was needed for a happy stay. The cottage was clean and spacious and surrounded by a large garden. The view out of the kitchen window was spectacular, especially on bright mornings. The kitchen itself was very well equipped with easy to use facilities, backed up by a number of explanatory leaflets. I would heartily recommend this cottage to visitors though not too many because we would love a return visit.

Summary: Overall a fantastic cottage which had been recently renovated for the purpose. The owners are on hand to welcome guests, they are attentive, friendly, discrete and very nice. Fixtures and fittings are good quality through the whole cottage. The heating is excellent and freely available. There is a log burner too and wood in good supply should you require it. The rooms are all a good size and well placed. The WiFi is standard ADSL and runs at about 7Mbps, but it's fine, though the back bedroom struggles. There was a WiFi extender but it wasn't setup properly so I did it for them. Then the WiFi extends. But the problem is the walls are so thick. There is a smart TV which you use to access your Neflix or Prime account. Just remember to sign out. The location is what we were expecting but it's a drive out to get anywhere. Which was fine for us. The Cleanliness was very good, though we had to wash a few dishes etc, I know how easy it is to miss these. Local Amenities - there are none, just peace and quiet. Again travel is required. And the immediate roads are a bit poor. Value for money - 10/10 I'd consider putting a plastic washing up bowl in the sink!

Summary: Beautiful cottage with a great view in a peaceful location. Well equipped kitchen, was a pleasure to cook, even though I was on holiday, in such a bright spacious room. Children and dog were delighted with the big garden, and the WiFi (well, the dog wasn't so bothered about the latter)! Not far from Rothbury for messages. Great places to visit not too far away.

Summary: This is a very special place. It was hard to take my eyes off the magnificent view, which was ever changing with the weather and time of day. The cottage itself is a delight. It is superbly furnished and equipped, with the highest quality appliances, fixtures and bedding. It made staying there a real pleasure. It was a brilliant base for exploring both coast and country. Rothbury is only a short drive away for shops and pubs, and as there is so much to visit in the area it was easy to pick up what was needed for home catering on the way home from different trips. I preferred to eat in as it was so nice at the cottage, and the lovely garden furniture made eating outside a pleasure too. On colder evenings the log burner was easy to use and made it really cosy. Nick and Oonagh are excellent hosts, friendly, thoughtful and quick to respond to any queries. This was my first taste of Northumberland, but I reckon I will be back. Thank you from me and my little dog Harvey, who loved having such a large garden to run around in.

Summary: We cannot recommend Croft Cottage highly enough. The cottage is modern, well-furnished and ofm the highest quality. The owners Nick and Oonnah made us feel welcome and looked after our every need. The selling points for us were that it was all on one level and had two walk-in showers. The view is absolutly stunning. and there is a pub nearby which we visited a number of times with a comprehensive menu. We will have no hesitation in looking to return in the future.
