Sycamore Cottage was originally a barn, dating from the heyday of the lead mining industry. It has been furnished to create a homely atmosphere and is the ideal property in which to kick back and relax. The charming garden is enclosed and provides a small lawn and a nice eating area, as well as a higher patio area with lovely views. Situated just a couple of minutes’ walk from the centre of Grassington, it is on the Dales Way and so well placed for both long hill walking and easier riverside walking straight from the door.
Take advantage of Grassington’s wide selection of pubs, restaurants and cafés, together with interesting independent shops, or in the local town hall, you can play snooker or badminton. A little further afield lies the bustling market town of Skipton, where you can enjoy canal cruises, golf, or the indoor swimming pool. Although there are no great views from inside the property, the secluded and cosy interior, large communal kitchen, and great village location with parking for two cars, more than compensates. It is ideal for walkers and their dogs, small families, or perfect for two couples as they would each have their own shower or bathroom. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

Summary: Well equipped cottage in an excellent location. Having parking was a real bonus. A little more care could have been taken with the housekeeping - 3 bulbs needed replacing and there was food left in the freezer compartment of the fridge. General cleanliness was very good. Summary: We stayed for the Dickensian festival and the location was perfect. Less than a minutes walk and we in the heart of the village. Also very handy for the pubs, restaurants and shops. Quite a few steps down from the road (as per description) so not really suitable for the less able bodied. The cottage itself was very well presented - clean and well equipped. There was plenty of room for 6 people in the lounge and dining kitchen.

Summary: I booked this cottage for our son and family, including three children 9, 7 and 2.5 years, they agree with this post. Everything was perfect, so cosy and possible to have a real fire, super kitchen, lounge, two bathrooms and all the three bedrooms were lovely. There were two child gates with instructions on the wall near them, they used both. They would certainly use it again although really wanted to be in the village where we were staying but wanted a little garden. Our daughter and family were also staying in the village but think next time both will wish to stay at Sycamore Cottage although not room for ALL!!
