Retaining character and charm, they lie in a peaceful setting overlooking countryside with many cycle tracks nearby. Ideal walking and fishing country, yet close to famous attractions - visitors can step back in time at the Beamish Open Air Museum or visit the Metro Centre (a shopper’s paradise), Hexham (with its glorious abbey), Durham City (a city of contrasts, with its fine cathedral and designer shops), or the Northumberland coast, which are all within an hour’s drive. The medieval castle of Raby has a 200-acre deer park and is a firm favourite with visitors. An ideal location to explore all the surrounding AONB. Shop 500 yards.

Summary: The cottage is spacious and warm. The kitchen is well equipped. Plenty of hot water. Very peaceful location. It would be useful to have wifi to search for walks and eateries. Summary: We recently stayed for 11 nights during Christmas visiting family for the holidays. I was absolutely satisfied with the accommodations and to our surprise the property owner had put up a Christmas Tree and decorated the cottage for Christmas! The cottage was so warm and inviting and is very suitable for longer stays. Will be back soon! Thank you Heather & Kelly for sharing your property with us!
