Positive: We had an amazing five days in June, and the cabin is beautifully located right at the border of the national park. The view from the cabin is stunning and you have access to lots of hiking routes right on your doorstep. The cabin is very spacious and comfortable, with wood burning stoves both in the living room and the kitchen, in addition to a gas heaters to be used for instant heating in the living room and the bathroom. Please note that this is a cabin without running water (we had plenty of bottled water left by the owner) and solar panel for lights (but not suitable to charge mobile phones unless sunny weather). We had plenty of firewood to keep warm and this cabin is perfect for those who have tried living without modern amenities before or would like to try to live a basic lifestyle.

Negative: This is related to the advertisement of the cabin, it is not immediately clear that this is a cabin without running water and ‘normal’ electricity. We did not see this until we were made aware the day before arriving, which meant we did not bring our power banks which would have been really useful to have. If you need to refill the water bottles you will have to do this at the petrol station in Otta.

Positive: Excellent cabin in Rondane. Very beautiful surroundings. Short walk to some beautiful waterfalls and great place to explore the region from. Using the woodburning stoves kept the apartment really warm despite snow and negative temps outside. SO much space, large living area and kitchen and 3 big bedrooms. Beds were comfortable and quality duvets and pillows provided. Lots of bottled water was provided and there is a gas hob to cook on. You can also heat water (for washing etc.) on one of the log burning stoves. 12v electricity supply (solar) allows for some lights and even a TV, and there are candles supplied everywhere for lighting. Really helpful owner, who heated the cabin and left us power banks for phones before our arrival.

Negative: Some of the information was a bit sparce before and on arrival which could have improved stay. No linen (towels or bed-linen are provided) it would have been helpful to know this on booking to better prepare (there's a lot of IKEAs near Oslo if you're coming from that direction). There is no running water - this is mentioned in the description, but can be easily overlooked. House information could have better descriptions of how to use the bathroom facilities (saw dust for toilet, shower pressure pump etc.) and where to find the cold food storage (fridge area is under kitchen floor, by front door). The roads can be a bit tricky in snow and ice depending on your vehicle (this is not an issue with the venue, but worth knowing before you hire a car). You will need to pay 50Kr (about £3.50) to enter the Rondane to get to the cabin every time you leave/return by car. 12v electricity supply (solar) can't charge your phone with a normal charger so take power banks. This seems like lots in the didn't like bit - it's not so much we didn't like them, just more information about them before going would have been really helpful.
