4 Bedroom Cabin in Shenandoah

Shenandoah River waterfront picnic lot is included with rental however, the house is NOT waterfront. Personal Riverfront lot is 1 mile drive from driveway entrance. The cabin is nestled in a hollow on 35 acres of private mountainside. Follow the winding driveway through a railroad tunnel to reach Fox Creek Lodge.
The lodge features an open living and dining concept. Dining table seats 8 and can accommodate additional pulled up chairs. There is also a bar top with 3 stools, mini drink refrigerator and wine cooler. 2.5 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms sleeping 10. Additional sleeping arrangements are possible with pull-out sofa. There are baby gates and a Pack 'n Play for your use while staying at Fox Creek Lodge. Enjoy the decks & balcony overlooking the seasonal pond and railroad tracks. Seeing the train pass is a unique site! The train does not whistle but you can feel its power as it comes down the tracks! Backyard offers a Gazebo to relax and space to play yard games such as Corn-hole, Frisbee, Croquet and Foosball which are a few of the entertainment items available at the property. Hot tub adjacent to the Gazebo. Pets are welcome for a fee so just let us know if your fur babies will be joining you.
We are centrally located just 15 miles from Massanutten Ski & Indoor/Outdoor Water Park Resort and historic Luray featuring Luray Caverns, the most popular cave in Eastern America. The Shenandoah National Park offers breathtaking views from Skyline Drive (Swift Run Gap access point only 17 miles away) and various distance trail hikes to waterfalls and beautiful scenery. There are many wineries and breweries close by as well as outdoor activity companies to help with river tubing, canoeing and fishing.
We furnish all linens, bathroom essentials, cleaning supplies, starter rolls of paper products, firewood to get you started (you can purchase more at the property forage the 35 acres), Propane gas, spice rack & some condiments as well as other kitchen items. Our beds are made with our linens prior to your arrival. Our maintenance and cleaning team are available if needed.

Summary: We didn’t spend a lot of time on property as we are an all women’s hiking group, so spent our days exploring the region, but while we were on property we enjoyed the well appointed kitchen, fireplace and hot tub. In the cold of winter the fireplace really took the chill off! The train that occasionally came by was hardly noticeable. Would stay here again.

Summary: Fox Creek Lodge is a little slice of paradise, convenient to hiking, Luray Caverns and beautiful mountain views. Our grandson is an astronomy enthusiast so our family has an annual tradition of spending a long winter weekend stargazing. Fox Creek is the perfect remote location for viewing an expansive winter night sky. Since we enjoy staying in and cooking big family meals, we were happy to find a fully outfitted kitchen. Need a cheese grater (check) electric tea kettle (check) every size pot and pan imaginable (check, check, check). We were also grateful our dogs could accompany us and there are tons of accessible walking trails for exploring. A bonus was watching the trains go by from the second story balcony (don't worry you can't even hear them from inside). My grandkids found the long railroad tunnel on the property especially exciting. We had a big snow while there and the entire property transformed into a winter wonderland. We do recommend a 4WD vehicle for the steep driveway. Overall, Fox Creek Lodge is a truly magical place to visit.

Summary: There's something magical about Fox Creek. The property is beautiful and private. The cabin is super-comfortable and well stocked with everything you might need. My kids and grandkids love it and say it feels like home. We love to watch the trains, and the new hot tub is great! We've already booked for next Thanksgiving tub is great

Summary: We have stayed at Foxcreek multiple times now . Every stay there is perfect . This year there was the new hot tub!!! It’s the ultimate house to stay for relaxation !! The owners are friendly and very helpful . Highly recommend

Summary: We had the Most Amazing Times!!!! The property is Gorgeous and a Perfect place for spending peaceful quality time together. The house was extremely well appointed especially the kitchen. We forged the wood for firewood and hiked all of the 35 acres. We had fondue night in the gazebo out back which was super nice. The best Star Gazing we’ve ever done due to no light pollution. We hope to come back because everything about the property was 100% on point.

Summary: A group of old friends gathered here to mark our 60 birthdays. The kitchen was wonderfully organized and spacious for group cooking projects. There are three great spaces to gather together for conversation, and the river lot was wonderful for a cool dip and picnic. The sleeping quarters include two beds in a loft that wasn't comfortably accessible for 60-year-olds, so look carefully at the layout before planning your sleeping arrangements. Hosts were responsive and helpful with our questions. Great place!
